"Your mind is your greatest asset". I've been told that essentially and literally my entire life. I'm supposed to be brilliant. But my life is cursed by the eternal and inevitable idea that nothing I could ever do would ever matter. It'll all go away and be forgotten, including by me. I'll die and be gone.

I've tried being a good Christian. But I can never convince myself that any of it is true.

Why shouldn't I drink myself to death? At least I can die drunk and by my own volition.

I need help. I don't want to not exist. I'm terrified out of my mind.

Who is the only One Who can help you ? (i think you know, or hope so anyway)

btw,
He is Perfect, and always Faithful and True, and never never never will let you down if you trust Him....... and don't trust the flesh nor anything of the flesh - there is no good thing in the flesh, no profit from it eternally, no benefit today.....
that's another good reason to
trust the One Who holds your life now in His hands, and eternally, no matter what the outcome.

Edge, yes you only have 2 choices. The light or even worse darkness than you are in now. The Lord will lift you out and bring you to a spacious place.
Alcohol is a tempting escape but wil eat up the remaining serotonin in your brain and you don't want to there at all.

Believe in Jesus as your Saviour and believe the Bible as God's Word.

When Jesus takes your fear away and rebuilds your heart into a loving one then you know that He is true God.

For years I doubted God and Jesus, depression and a failed life were my reward. When I began to have faith in Jesus and in His loving truth I left bad life behind and now live a life of thankfulness and have much joy in my salvation.

It is great to see how faith in Jesus changes hearts and minds and sets us free from our wants and fears.

Honest put your faith in Jesus as your Saviour and let Him rebuild you, someone untrue can't do things like that.

Romans 10:9

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

alcohol is a depressant, which means it makes you more depressed. If you get addicted to it, you're more likely to do things you wish you didn't do while you were out of control. If you get addicted, you're more likely to have trouble working at your job, and are more likely to end up homeless if you can't control it. Then you will be in an even worse, more depressing situation than you were before. You can try to drink your life away, but while addictions typically start with beer, it might devolve into addictions to other drugs that are illegal and really mess you up. Beer doesn't solve anything but give you a momentary lapse in consciousness. Isn't there ANYTHING else you can do to alleviate the pain? For me it was antidepressants and music. Particularly Christian music, because worldly music always makes me depressed, because it reminds me of what a loser I am, whereas Christian music just focuses on how wonderful God is.
