  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Time is flying by!! Oh & with the group here they said that I can bring her in class with me but I'm not so sure that is a good idea with a infant. Although it's probably gonna get harder the older she gets. :)

I so admire you for wantng more kids. :)

Really? Why did I think they had some RULE about the kids having to be the nursery or baby classes?

Some MOPs allow kids to come in and some don't, that's what I heard at GCM. That's the reason I never went to MOPs when I had one small one though, I knew he wouldn't want to be away from me and I didn't want to leave him screaming in the next room. I like natural separation, such as the moms in a circle in one room and the next room open to it and the children choose to chase each other into the next room. There are other groups though, something called MOMS club, and meetup groups. Did you check those?

The more you take baby out, llghoney, the easier it gets to do so! True for three kids too!

Ya know Neenie on the help part my mom & hubby were tryign sooo ahrd to get someone to come & clean my house but I figured I can do a little here & there. But if I had a lot of kids I may consider for sure especially when they are infants. It would be different if hubby helped but no such luck.

Back to this cleaning thing, there are some things holding me back on going with a cleaning lady. I want my kids to learn the skills and also the value of good hard work. :D If I do get a cleaning lady, it may only be for the time when they are all little. Right now I am focusing on simplifying. Anything that ends up on the floor regularly has to go. ;)

Maybe you can check & see if they will allow them in the class. I was actually suprised when they said that most with infants bring them. I know I can't do the leaving her right now at all. We went to church for the first time since having her & she did good til' the very end.

I think one of my things is with taking her out is having to change her. Getting stuck somewhere where there is no place to change her & having to leave & go to the car. She throws down when her diaper is a little wet. Although the other day I did some grocery shopping & she threw down when I was checking out & I just had to let her cry for a bit & she settled down. The lady at the self-check (they have people watching & helping) out came to try to distract her.

Weeeelllllllllll, I got most the cleaning done. I waited until JD was occupied with the TV or with his toys to scoot from one thing to another and right back to him. That was really hard.

I did get 5 loads of laundry washed, and 3 loads from last time folded plus 3 loads from today folded. Put away? Not quite. I did clean MOST of the kitchen, so tomorrow I am making cookies and cake. Cookies for door prizes and cake for the party. I am still pulling at straws for finger foods... probably fruits and veggies which require me walking to a store tomorrow.

Jonathan was moving around so much I had to block off the area again. I ended up putting him down after a feed to sleep and he popped back up in 10 minutes... so I vacuumed like mad while he was awake and that kept him calm and he watched The Rainbow fish show on Disney. I got all but the back rooms done too!

I seperated more of JD's too small clothes and I changed most of his diapers to reflect his new "rise"... so they're bigger for him. I can't believe it, he's now getting a belly and a double chin!! :D It seems so strange for him as muscular and thin as he is. hehe

This vid is from last week... but this is what he was up to today :)

DH is talking to him in the video asking "Jonathan, what are you doing.. are you playing?"

He has gotten moving in a circle down well, but I think his socks and his thick diapers are slowing him, so I changed it so he has daytime diapers (thinner) and nighttime with the newborn insert in with the regular insert so he can move around better. I think it helps.

Leanna, I know of some folks who told their DH if they have more than 4 they need part time cleaning help... and their DH's actually put out! I could not believe it!!! LOL -- man that's almost a dream for me, but I'm not sure i'm ready for another one juuuust yet. ;)

My husband is willing to help, but he is working 50+ hours right now on the business he started this year and so I don't ask him. We're doing okay though. If he ever has more time, I would rather him spend one on one time with a child at a time and have some involvement in our homeschooling (which doesn't necessarily mean books).

What places have no where to change?

Grocery stores & some clothing stores but I can handle walking out of a clothing store leaving things but if I'm grocery shopping that is another issue.

HadassahSukkot... You have a cute little one there! It looks like he is trying to fly in the first video!

I've been SO busy the last week or so. I was called into work on Monday, so I will have worked 4 days this week. Usually I work 3 days a fortnight. It was really hard. Maddie was with Mum Monday and Tuesday. I missed her so much. I like going to work (well most of the time) but I hate leaving Maddie. I have to work this weekend too. Not really looking forward to that.
We've also been sick. Maddie caught the cold from DH and I. So she hasn't been breathing as easily as normal. Also I think she is changing her sleeping pattern again. I really liked her sleeping pattern. She slept from 10pm-7.30am ish. Now she is going down at 7 or 8pm and waking up between 3 and 5am. Not a fan of that! I like my sleep!
I should probably go and have a shower while she is asleep!

I would never go anywhere that insisted I couldn't take my baby. (unless it was an option to leave my baby with dad, or another close relative) I just don't like the idea of leaving babies under 18 months in creche. For what it's worth I don't remember leaving ds in a creche before 20 months, and I think dd was around 18 months. It started off with 10 min at a time, then eventually progressed to a whole church meeting.

ROFL. I don't like to do it, and try to avoid it, but there have been MANY times in the last 12 - 18 months I have had to change my dd in the boot of the car, I don't like to do it, but HAD to, because we were at my ds school, and no baby change areas in sight. (she had done no.2) I have also done the nappy change in the pram if I had to.

Me too. My kids tonight tidied the lounge and family area by themselves. I was so proud of them. Admittedly my 6 year old did way more than the 3 year old did, but it's all good. I can't stand toys on the flloor. it's all good while they are playing, but I don't like it left there when they are finished.

We've done the car thing already too.
