  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Place your trust in God to put in Office the person He will have or allow to rule. We should not risk voting against the will of God.

Things are unfolding in the world to indicate the end of the End times, I believe, and God is not looking for us to try to make this a better world, but get into conformity to God and His purposes for us. God says "the world is condemned already". The Bible really calls us to be separate from the world's ways --only to "render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's" things. That is my view.

I think you're half right. We very well may be looking at the End Times but until God tells us to quit working, we should work.

This is not a political forum. It's about conservative Christian theology, not Conservative politics.

Please pass this along wherever you can. It's not just the politics, it's the attempted destruction of The United States by the Liberal Agenda and a war against Christians!

Let's make it CHRISTIAN Conservative.

Specifically, Mike Huckabee, Rick Santorum, Bobby Jindal, or Ben Carson.

Let's not settle for elitist stooges like McCain, Romney, Bush, Rand Paul, or Ted Cruz. These men are not devout Christians like the potential candidates I just mentioned.

Huckabee, Santorum, Jindal, and Carson are TRUE CHRISTIANS! (And their daddy and step-daddy weren't muslims, either.)

The LAST thing I want is a theocracy...

And...what about the millions of people who DO NOT subscribe to your particular brand of Christianity?

Huckabee is a follower of a man named Bill Gothard...that's bad news.

Santorum is a fundamentalist Catholic...bad combination

Ben Carson was a Seventh Day Adventist...not exactly mainstream Christianity there

Bobby Jindal's Louisiana is near the bottom in all measures of success.

No thanks to any of them...NONE of them are presidential material.

Bobby Jindal isn't worthy of being elected Dogcatcher.

https://www.insidehighered.com/blogs/education-oronte-churm/are-louisiana’s-higher-ed-problems-viral

"Higher ed in the state began to suffer as soon as Jindal took office in 2008. State funding has been cut by “43.2 percent per student since 2008, a larger decrease than any state but Arizona,” reports the Times-Picayune. There are a thousand fewer full-time college faculty now than when Jindal became governor, and LSU has placed 46th in the nation for flagship funding."

Yeah...no...don't want someone who wants to keep people from higher education in any office...except the dogcatcher's or the janitor's

There's relatively little demand from anyone for such a development--and virtually none for what Red Pony Driver turned your comments into (a theocracy)--but of course I recognize that the claim that it's about to take over the country works well to inflame certain voters.

If the Christian right has their way, it'll end up being their version of Sharia law only using Jehovah instead of Allah.

Fundamentalist Christianity is the view held by a MINORITY in this country. There are very few of that belief system who have the ability and/or desire to truly study the issues at hand and what their candidates are really doing. This is why the right is so against higher education...one of the hallmarks of someone with education is the ability to think critically and evaluate claims and points of view in accordance with available facts. I have seen here over and over again certain claims made that can be debunked in less than 5 minutes using Google.

Unfortunately, most of the fundamentalists are so afraid of other viewpoints, they won't go look at anything that may shake their foundation. They don't realize that their foundation is built on sand.

Well, we've had hundreds of years of experience with the American republic and that has never happened--even when there was a near-total consensus in this country for Christianity. In other words, I don't take such a comment as yours seriously.

And then there's also the fact that it's the Conservatives who want to maintain the Constitution which would prevent such a thing as you suggest. No, I see nothing to worry about.

Maintain the Constitution...hmmm....Roe v. Wade was decided upon the Constitutional principle of a right to privacy. Same sex marriage is leaning on the equal protection clause of the Constitution, yet which side is fighting it? The conservatives need to re-read the Constitution because most of what they claim is in there isn't.

Let's start with the first amendment to the Constitution...freedom of speech, assembly and religion. Christians want to put THEIR displays in the public forum yet have a fit when other religious groups want to do the same. How is that "Constitutional"? You put up a cross, the Jews get to put up the Star of David, the Pagans get a Pentacle and the Satanists get a pentagram, right? Or is it only a cross and nothing else?

That's amusing. One side is trying to say that the Constitution is on its side, so that settles it for you. No question. They claimed it--but of course, so did the other one--and that's all there is to it as far as you are concerned.

Do you think that I don't know that you've invented most of that? But even if it were accurate, "Christians" is not the group in question here.

What's more, the point was about abiding by the Constitution. You talk as though no one can have an opinion at odds with yours, even before policy is decided by any unit of government or the courts act! Conservatives as a group, certainly do NOT act like the Occupy Wall Street vandals or the street rioters in Missouri.
