when some one buys a pet at frist it asks do you want cf pet workers to remind you to feed your pets and i dont remind them as a pet worker
HUH! Never knew it asked this, must be new.
Just went to see what it says about reminding us to feed their pets...this is all I see:
NOTE: Creating a christianforums.com Pet will use up 700 blessings.
· You must look after your pet and keep it happy.
· You must feed your pet to stop it getting hungry.
· If your pet is hungry it will lose health and pleasure.
· If your pet has no health for 5 days it will die.
Did you get that statement from that OLD thread downstairs, that was just an opinion poll? I see nothing about us being reminderers

do do i buy feeding them to 25 percent hunger??

1) with the coming upgrad (Sunday night) should we advise everyone to put the pets into day care???? I've got instructions to feed them to 0% today.....which is a good start I think....

some thoughts to ponder while we are down - esp team leaders and those that have been here a while and know how the ebb and flow with these pets go.

• IN regards to feeding the pets down to 0 this weekend......should we post a comment about this explaining what we are doing and why we are doing it in the public area so that perhaps if we get any more peeps coming there to post not to feed MAYBE they will see the post and think differently about any complaints?

• should we (find a way to) revise the adoption contract to strongly suggest not charging more than 500 per pet put into adoption center? and perhaps we may need to edit some of the other greetings and welcome messages when we return as well I suppose.

• graphics team Grace - there are many of us now interested in graphics and we have several threads here as well as a scattored array of PB accounts and folders/files in those accounts - I think we ought to elest some kind of team leader for this extension of our services and perhaps even have some structured tasks such as sending greeting cards to pet owners at holidays, sending congrats to new pet owners - with a welcome letter and expalanation of who we are and how we can help, and maybe providing a thread/space within the workers area to be available to workers to help with minor tech stuff that we are in the know about such as setting up avatars and siggys (although we will have to learn again lol) etc etc

• I am just thinking (out loud) that there are some areas in the pet ministries here that have some loose ends that might need some spring cleaning and tieing up loose ends. anything I say here is only suggestion or an opening to begin a dialog not necessarily a fervent request.

• also there is some talk now that we have access to the P3TZ site and most of us can see what options are available including a means of putting the pets to permanent sleep (in particular those that have been abandoned one year +) that I feel we maybe ought to have some dialog and discussion about. we are usually tight on workers as it is and alleviating any possible busy work would be well appreciated I am sure. I know that the upper admin actually controls which of these features will be allowed or disabled, but I think as the pets forums servants we should have a voice in the matter just as there is a space on the home page to suggest new features/forums etc. again we wont know what the actual scoop is going to be on these pets til we come back up but while we are donw I just wanted to throw this out there for us to think about while we are down.

Yes and the pm was from ME!! I did make a mistake thinking the 5 was on Sat, but I see it is on Mon. Feed team love pets to full on Sun.sometime, if this is a problem please pm ME!!! This is the way I want team LOVE pets taken care of for now

1. This poll was started in January of 2007, and one option involved authority for petworkers to remove pets, put them up for adoption or whatever, that have been neglected for a very long time. I think this an excellent idea though apparently nothing ever came of it, or perhaps the site administrators are unwilling to help in the matter. To me it is a poor use of time, poor stewardship of the same, feeding pets daily that have been abandoned for a year or more. Often the owners are teenagers who likely have forgotten that CFs even exists.


Obviously the designers of these virtual pet features are interested in imitating real life, to the point of the pets going through all the motions of starvation and death over 5 days. Well, it`s also true in real life that abused pets are sometimes removed from their owners by animal control officers. So why not imitate this also? I at times feel silly feeding a pet that someone abandoned sometime in early `07, only posted for a few weeks, and went on to other activities. A time limit could be set at a year, or even 9 or 6 months. And in the unusual case where someone comes back a year later and has to adopt a new pet, it shouldn`t be that traumatic for them. I can`t see how they could have expected any different...

2. What is up with the food options? We did have someone create a program for it, very nice of them of course, but we are still limited to stocking 10 items. Has anyone suggested an even better, internal solution? That would be great, but perhaps all that I am suggesting are matters way at the bottom of the site admins priorities....

I can unsticky it and close it - if that's ok - I'll take care of it now - but if you need something else today or tomorrow - you may have to check with another mod. Right now I have no electricity due to storm last night and laptop battery is nearly dead.
