The kingdom is within
You see some glory in torturing people to prove a point to the devil? I certianly do not. And what does sin have to do with it? It seems that you are talking in circles and about something other than the instance at hand.GOD never usually wins. GOD ALWAYS reaps the glory. Man is going to suffer as long as sin abounds. Man must go through the fire and not around it. A great part of that is the realization that one is incapable of being "good enough" in GOD's eyes. That realization is learned through experience. That experience is painful.
The story says basically that God was proud of Job and that satan said that Job was not all that so God gave satan permission to inflict serious harm on him just to prove a point. Far from glorious imo.
How many people suffered and died in this story just so God could show satan that Job was faithful? It really sounds like God cared more about satans opinion that he did about the well being of Job or the lives of those around him.
When read as a true story it makes God look cruel an ingorant and this is to the most perfect servant in all the land. Imagine how cruel it makes him look in regaurd to the common man.
