• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

 I walked into the forum with the same question...I guess I can offer this, which isn't much, since you basically posted my thoughts...

Know what your triggers are, and if you can avoid them, try your best to. Try to find an accountability partner who will not listen to a line about why you didn't eat, or why you felt so compelled to purge you 'had to' and stick with them.

 Denise. Your triggers are hard to avoid... I have similar ones myself, and I can feel your pain. Are you still seeing your therapist? and do you know why have things suddenly gotten worse? (if they have, that is - sounds like it)

I wish I could help more, but you will be in my prayers.

*hugs*blessedmom-I truly understand :) I am in recovery(have been for six months) and those voices are still there-actually since I am in recovery they are been louder and trying to get me to come back to my eating disorder. However you have to fight hard and stay strong-try and avoid triggers-though your triggers are hard to avoid when you come face to face with them you have to tell yourself you can overcome this. This world is full of offensive things that cross our paths-but we can make the choice to act on it or not, dont let this world control you-you control your thoughts and you can control those voices if you start thinking positive despite those loud voices-Im praying for you.You have to stop looking at yourself as a victim and start trying your hardest to be a survivor. Im here if you need to talk-pm me if you like :)
