Voices and noises in my sleep

Can visions or dreams be manifested as audible hearing things? Not just dreaming about words spoken but acutally really hearing it and being awakened by it?

I know it happend to Samuel in the Bible, when God called his name while he was sleeping. I just wonder if others experience that.

At different times in my life I have heard things. It has happened more in this last year than before.

I hear these usually just after barely dozing off, before I'm in a deep sleep or right as I'm starting to wake up, just before actually gainin consciousness, right at the edge of sleep.

Sometimes I comes as a song that a male voice is singing to me. It is a song that I have never heard before, and never hear again. It doesn't have a standard organization like verses and chorus. It is like a one-sided conversation or an announcement being sung to me.

These song have only happened during time of great struggle or growth. I can usually only remember the last little bits of it.

Yes searcher kris. Many people hear music. Christsfreeservant often gets messages in a song as she's waking up. I recently was given the same song for three days last week and didn't know it had such a deep meaning. Maybe write down what you hear when you hear it. Post it here and people can help you understand the message or ask God to reveal to you the meaning...

Wow! that is soo cool. I would love to hear that..my friend heard Gods voice as a child but it was in the form of moving/falling water, she says it was profoundly beautiful.. ...really interesting. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks. I love this encouragment. At church I get weird stares, and non-committal comments.

Right now in my life I am growing through putting aside people pleasing, changing myself to fit what others want, and worrying about what others think. I'm no longer acting on these thoughts and feelings, but I have a great deal of tension and worry over it.

Yesterday, I had fallen asleep in the afternoon. I was awakened by a song. I can't remember the actual words from the beginning of it, but it was like an explanation of what God's intentions are, what I've been through, and how I've grown and that He is pleased with some of the steps I've taken, acknowledging that it has been hard but that He means for me to have a full life with Him. Then, the last little bit of it was, "You are created how you are supposed to be. It's ok to be who you are. You weren't created for them. You were created for you and Me."

My mother hears similar 'new songs' every morning as well, its awesome!
The LORD tells us that HE 'rejoices over us with singing'. Zephaniah 3:17

If you forget part of a dream, vision or song; simply ask the LORD (who is in you) to remind you (something that the SPIRIT does) and it will come back to you.

Lastly, I want to encourage you on this path, it has lasting results.
The singing alone reduces stress, and brings a sense of well being (peace).

And the LORD is delivering you from 'the fear of man' which brings a snare.
It has been trapping you for too long, and the sound of freedom is in the air.

The fear of man brings a snare, But he who trusts in the LORD will be exalted.
Proverbs 29:25

Good question.

Just to add another "yes" to the pile. He often speaks to me as I am waking up, right before consciousness arrives, and at times He also does during dreams. His voice stands out from other voices in texture and quality. It is always remembered if it occurs in a dream, because He wants you to know something. So He plants it in your heart and mind both.

I have heard singing.. But a couple days ago i was goin thru a hard time and i had laid down to go to sleep and i heard two of my friends praying for me i heard one praying in tonges and the other was praying i heard it till i feel asleep and i had asked one of them about it the next day she said they had been praying..

Several months ago I was going through a phase of uncertainty, and had several things and options up in the air. There was one that I was very emotionally invested in. I laid down and was just drifting off to sleep. I sleep on my side, and in the ear that I had pressed against the pillow I very distinctly heard a loud door shut. It wasn't like a slamming door, but it was very firm and final feeling.

Over the next week I learned things that made that one option I was deeply invested to no longer be an option. I think it was a forewarning that a door of oportunity would be closing.

Yes, I have similar experiences upon hearing or seeing even tasting things like wine as I lie down to sleep or getting awakened.

You have a beautiful relationship with the Lord and I can sense you are growing from GLORY TO GLORY dear sister.

That is so beautiful. I think church friends responded strangely just because they don't experience that. It would be nice if they could support you in a different walk, a different set of gifts... because the Body is put together with difference for a good reason.

Since you have built up solid reason to trust what you are hearing, then rest in it and encourage it... keep building your ability to hear from God in different ways.

Funny story, I'd thought I never hear these, and then the next morning after reading your thread, I heard something.

What I had was a very loud sound inside my head, which my brain interpreted as "hello," and then seemed troll-like. But as my thoughts became clearer I realized I'd heard no words formed and seen no images... it was just an indescribably sound that didn't even sound like "hello at all!"

Which made me think it was a supernatural statement about spirits over NKorea visiting the US, but then it didn't even feel supernatural.

My sinuses seemed to be crackling and clearing out, so probably what I heard was pressure and air popping. But even with that, the noises didn't match up. It didn't compare with any noise I knew.
