Hey all...

I have a couple questions:

As Priest and Deacon is to Catholics, _____ and ____ is to Orthodoxy?

Finally, what are the guidelines relative to the Sacrament of Marriage within those vocations?

Thank ya much! :)

Before a man is ordained to the Orthodox Diaconate, he must make a commitment to marry or to remain single. Once a man is ordained to the Diaconate, if he is married, he cannot remarry if his wife dies. If he is celibate and he is ordained to the Diaconate, he must remain celibate. The same goes for a priest. A priest must marry before being ordained to the Diaconate. If the wife of a married priest falls asleep in the Lord, he cannot remarry.

Bishops are chosen from the ranks of the celibates, usually monastics.
