Visitor Messages

I don't know if this is a bug or if I'm doing something wrong, but whenever I try to approve visitor messages on my profile I get the message
You did not select any valid messages

Also, some of my visitor messages disappeared before I could approve them. Help?

It's possible another staff member approved them first?

OR they were always visible and didn't need approving.
