  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It's not necessary to visit hell for a visit because Jesus has described it so well.Contrary to the opinion that many Christians have that salvation is easy to obtain ("just repeat this prayer after me") and even more absurd, something you can never lose no matter how many men who kill, women you rape and children you maim, the bible teaches exactly the opposite. In fact Jesus spoke more about hell than almost any other topic and he used extremely graphic language when He did so.He specifically stated that few would receive salvation and even worse,"it's as hard for a rich man to get into heaven as it is for a camel to go through the eye of needle"It's very reassuring to know that almost all of our politicians will remain on earth to keep the country in a state of war.Jesus' descriptions of heaven were less specific but in enough detail to make it appear to be a true paradise. There are many people who have died briefly and then come back to life due to medical intervention. Some of these people report that they did go to heaven briefly. The only safe conclusion that can be drawn however is that in the process of dying, their brain created a memory delusion because the bible makes it clear that with few exceptions, when people die, they will remain in a state of death until Jesus returns for the rapture,at which time those who are saved will be transported to heaven for the first time. But there are no guided tours of heaven. It's not for sale or rent.Occupancy is free for those who meet the qualifications;forgiveness of our enemies being one of the most difficult to meet.

Nobody who believes that Jesus saves them rapes and kills, our works don't keep us saved, otherwise we could brag how we go ourselves to heaven. Read Ephesians 2.8-10. We are created to do good works, after we are saved by grace. By defintion, we don't earn grace.

Look at James 1, and Galations 5.22-23; these are the marks of a true Christian.

So the promise in Romans 10.9 is true, we can pray and be saved, its that simple.

Actually, the Hebrews, who have been around for thousands of years, have the concept of Sheol, which is simular.

And you assume that becasue its Greek is wrong, not every part of non-christian religions are wrong.

Rom10:10 also another way to confirm your salvation.

Willfully sinning is basically sinning and mocking God saying that you're forgiven so it's alright to sin. No. If you do that, eg above raping killing murdering etc then that sin will be held to you because there's no other sacrafice to cover them.

Well I agree with most of what you said except for this part... the Bible does not say this. In actuality the Bible records Jesus saying this...

Luke 23:43
And He said to him, "Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise."

says "
today" not "at the resurrection" or "at the rapture" but "today"

Why do we need a trip to hell, when Satan is already here!?! Every where you look you death, cursing, sin, sin, and more sin!!! Even demons can possess people and alot of people living today don't give an inch. How we all start praying to God and asking for Him to take us all on a nice vacation to HEAVEN!!!!!! And you know what, let us stay there too...hey at least you won't have to bother to pack. I don't want a trip to hell...I want to be with my Savior and Father in HEAVEN RIGHT NOW!

Yes, dear Sisters and Brothers in the name of Jesus, this site was not set up to seperate us in debates, but to draw us nearer. We all have the love of Jesus in us and we need to be careful of our tempers when such questions are asked like this, which tests our faith. Jesus NEVER wanted to have His Church seperated as it is today and so we do need to be very careful that we don't let anything get in the way of Jesus' love to us and to each other. God bless. Love, Tanya

Contrary to the opinion that many Christians have that salvation is easy to obtain ("just repeat this prayer after me")

If you look at it this way you may see what I am saying about being saved, I believe God calls only the ones he knows that will except him, he know there heart already, that is why for some people it easy to be saved, others he already knows that they will not except him. Paul was running around and killing christian because he thought he was doing God a favor, and Paul was saved later, then he stopped all his killing. yes of course if you believe in God you should do good, but it does not always work out that way, with sin still inside of us, people still do bad, and there is a price to pay for it, David took another mans wife and had the husband killed. God still loved him. I believe God called David the Apple of Gods eye. God took his first born, for what David did. Mercy is something God give us, not what we deserve. The Invitation is there for all to be saved, narrow is the gate for salvation, and wide is the one for destruction.

I was reading last night about God calling for those people and it was done in a painting:

Jesus was knocking at a door, but the door had no latch on the outside. The only way Jesus could get in was by the person on the inside opening the door to Jesus. And this is the way salvation is given also.
