well the Aryan invasion isn't a myth, but the rest of that was very interesting...It is hard to prove that a blue godman existed...Just as it is hard to prove that many of the demons of the Ramayana and other hindu texts talk about...we have no proof so far of anything in hinduism.

ANyway, no, I don't think there's any proof that Vishnu or Krishna existed. Since Vishnu a god rather than a person, I suppose that technically, he qualifies as a "false idol." As for Krishna, I have no reason that he ever existed as a man. But if anyone has proof of his existence, I'm always open to new ideas.
Most Hindus believe that the truth of the Hindu epics (such as the Ramayana) is irrelevant, because the lessons that they teach are more important. There are a few notable exceptions. Shirdi Sai Baba, who lived over a hundred years ago, was once asked by one of his students if the epics really happened, and he answered in the affirmative. There are also a few Hindus who've looked at satellite photos of India and Sri Lanka, and they believe that they can see the remnants of a land bridge between the two countries. They believe that Rama constructed this bridge to travel to Sri Lanka and rescue Sita. The existence of the land bridge, however, has been disproven.
Anyway, most Hindus believe in the doctrine of Maya: that the visible world is illusory. So in a sense, the Hindu epics can be as real as you want them to be. While I'm all for spirituality, I don't personally prefer a religion that has absolutely no grounding in the real world. That's one reason I don't believe in Hinduism, anyway. But hey, whatever floats your boat, right?

msindiausa said:WOW!....Why does he wait so long.?..That is very interesting....I thought Kalki would be coming sooner...The reason I thought this is because Jews are expecting the messiah soon, christians are expecting the return of christ and judgement(as are the muslims), and buddhist are expecting Maitreya(another incarnation of buddha) soon.
Thats what you think, historians have more proofs of Chrishna's existance than Jesus. Sunken city of Dwarka, Kurekshetra, historical temples , Bhagavad Geeta, correct atronomical events etc. are many proofs.arunma said:The epistles of the apostles, the Gospel, the existence of the church, the Roman historian Tacitus, Pliny the Younger, and the Jewish historian Josephus all attest to the existence of Jesus.
