  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Ok who has started to play with Virtual PC 2007 ? (Free download from Microsoft)

Right now I've got a Vista Home Premium system, and I'm testing VPC out on it.

It complains a little when installing that it's not supported (Not that it wont work, it dose)

Didn't have any ISOs yet to play with, so Grabbed DSL (Dam Small Linux) to try it out with.
Boots & works great so far
I'm acutally posting this thread from Firefox in DSL on a Vista Home Premium box. Well we'll see how it goes from there, but first impressions, it works well.

(Not counting the scroll whell on my mouse :( )
But I think that's an issue with DSL not VPC

You have me interested in your findings. Curious about a few things...

firewall support?

Saw that you're running DSL for now... have you or are you going to run XP also?

I see that it's possible (have not tried it yet) to run VMWare Player loading a Windows image from IFW or BING from Terabyte Unlimited... can you load an image vs installing from DVD/CD in Virtual PC 2007?

I'll have to check the VPC out. Hopefully I can install it on my XP and maybe onto the school computer and totally hack the network......
Why be so destructive ?

Going to have to do more testing with Linux, so far only DSL would boot & run easy, and tried a few version of Ubuntu, all hated the gfx card in install.

Trying an install of XP Pro, and going good so far (512Meg app 20G HD space on the Virtual System)

VPC (Virtual PC) is a Virtual Computer that you can run on your computer.

Advantage ???
You Can use it as a test bed for software, without having to rebuild your main computer each time,
Got a program you don't trust, or even a known bad program, run it on the Virtual PC, and watch what damage it dose, shut down & your system is safe

Want to play with a bunch of different OSs ? Make & Run Multiple VPC at the same time without having 1/2 dozen computers on your desk.
