I don't know why the site is attributing these comments to me. I never made them.Yes, they were traitors to the crown. That was the whole point of the war.
Anyone can leave. They just can’t take the states with them. That belongs to the United States.
It’s right there in the name.
That gave me a chuckle. Sherman presented Savannah, Georgia, to Lincoln as a Christmas present, and by his own admission essentially turned his troops loose on South Carolina. It's ironic that Sherman's March through Georgia is often remembered, but his march through South Carolina isn't.Visited Columbia, had a nice time

How does a school's name deny anyone the equal opportunity to education?Virginia school board sued after reinstating Confederate school names
The Virginia NAACP and five students filed a lawsuit against a school board’s decision to restore the names of Confederate leaders to two schools.
The federal complaint filed Tuesday says the reversal denies Black students an equal opportunity to education by forcing them to attend a school named after Confederate leaders.
The lawsuit, which NBC first reported, details the history of the school names and the student’s experiences. The high school [was] named after Jackson in 1959 during a period of massive resistance to school integration.
I'm a bit skeptical myself, but I guess we'll find out in court. How does a school's name deny anyone the equal opportunity to education?
Yay! Let's keep bogging down the system!I'm a bit skeptical myself, but I guess we'll find out in court.
Let's see what your tune is after the election.Yay! Let's keep bogging down the system!
You think Biden will claim that he couldn't have a fair and honest election because of what a school was named?Let's see what your tune is after the election.

Election integrity can actually affect people - unlike the name of a school. I'm glad they are doing this. The GOP has already started lawsuits for the election that hasn't even happened yet. If you thought there were a lot of pointless election lawsuits after 2020, just wait until 2024. Some of Trump's strategy relies on bogging down election systems with responding to lawsuits.
You're glad schools are being named against traitors who made war against the United States? That's sad.Election integrity can actually affect people - unlike the name of a school. I'm glad they are doing this.
I'm glad that they are proactively trying to safeguard the upcoming election. You're glad schools are being named against traitors who made war against the United States? That's sad.
By renaming schools after traitors?I'm glad that they are proactively trying to safeguard the upcoming election.
Then why are you on this thread about that?I don't care at all about what the schools are named.
You: "Election integrity can actually affect people - unlike the name of a school. I'm glad they are doing this."That was an odd interpretation of what I said.
You should read the comment that I was responding to.By renaming schools after traitors?

Sure looks like you are glad they are renaming the school after that traitor.
I still have no idea what you think you were talking about. You are pro-renaming aren't you?You should read the comment that I was responding to.
I don't believe renaming schools combats racism.I still have no idea what you think you were talking about. You are pro-renaming aren't you?
Should I ask are you pro-re-renaming (ie, pro-naming it back again for the traitor)?I don't believe renaming schools combats racism.
You realize that both sides of this issue are "pro-renaming" - right?
Why didn't you read the comment I was responding to?
I am pro-local-entities-making-those-decisions-for-themselves.Should I ask are you pro-re-renaming (ie, pro-naming it back again for the traitor)?
The current "virtue signalling" is either pro-Confederate, or the apparent pro-Confederate "virtue signalling" is racist in nature. Neither should be seen as "good".I am pro-local-entities-making-those-decisions-for-themselves.
If the motivation behind the initial change was to "combat racism" - then I would oppose the initial change - because that action does not actually combat racism.
I guess you would say I am anti-what-I-consider-to-be-stupid-virtue-signaling-that-does-not-solve-the-problem-they-claim-that-it-does
