Reading the linked article about the study, it sounds like the questions were carefully worded to avoid the type of issue you describe:
To measure participants' knowledge about evolution, for example, the researchers employed a National Science Foundation technique that starts questions with phrasing like "according to scientists" or "scientists would think." This, in theory, allows participants to answer based on what they know about a subject rather than what they believe about it.
More than likely, if one doesn't believe the TOE has merit, they either are ignorant of it and throw up their hands. Or, it scares them, because it contradicts a personal faith belief and the defense mechanisms go in over drive.
If the TOE didn't frighten some folks, they wouldn't have to constantly, misrepresent the theory, to make themselves feel better.
Exactly. And in my signature, we have another key...If the TOE didn't frighten some folks, they wouldn't have to constantly, misrepresent the theory, to make themselves feel better.
Yes. That's why you should care about the actual evidence.
No idea what you are talking about. And frankly, a bit reluctant to take you on your word when you are badmouthing science/scientists. It's not like you don't have a reputation or something. So again, let's care more about the actual evidence and less about what people say/claim.
I guess that's because you don't hang out with atheists and liberals in real life. You should try it sometime. We don't bite.
No changes except as noted: smaller class sizes, seating, mentoring. You are clearly angling for me to bring creationism into science classes. This I wouldn't do as natural science is actually the study of creation.... if the students eventually have the eyes to see it. But it's up to them.
I have a very good real life reputation. It's only among atheists and liberals on these boards that I don't.
The data also shows that defecating in public is continuing to rise in 26 countries in sub-Saharan Africa, particularly Nigeria, where 39 million did not have access to toilets in 2012
So that's one reason.
What any of this has to do with rather universal moral values that theists like to claim exclusive rights on, is unclear (to say the least………..)
Perhaps that has to do with your reluctance to step out of your comfort zone.
How many "atheists and liberals" do you frequent in real life?
When refering to your reputation on here, I was talking about your habbit of badmouthing science/scientist based on very bad intel, strawmen and creationist propaganda.
Badmouthing = justifiable criticism (to whom much is given, much is expected).
As I said about the only people I do interact with are atheists and liberals, including my own family.
When you interact with them, do you tell them the world is going to hell and a handbasket (according to you), because people don't believe the right things?
These folks that spread disease with this habit are very religious, but their religion doesn't translate to loving their neighbor (or themselves) by changing this awful practice. They just don't make the connection. It doesn't lead them to a better life. The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob does. What do they believe their gods want for them?
What is more important than the world going down the tubes, according to you?
... did you actually read the pages you linked to? These people aren't defecting in the streets because of religious reasons. IT'S BECAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE FREAKING TOILETS!!
Not so. They don't use existing toilets because their habit of going outside is too strong. It's a cultural thing, like the aversion of most men to using condoms. They just don't see it as a moral issue, regardless of the harm it causes them and others. Christians identify behaviors that are harmful and try to change them, regardless of longstanding habits. That's the superiority of Christianity.
