  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

 Hi! I'm new to this forum, and am looking for some extra Christian interaction. I currently live in Vienna, Austria and I stare in curious wonder at the obedience of dogs here. They need no leashes, trot along at their masters side, sit patiently in restaurants... It's amazing! I adore dogs and really would like one here, but wonder if I took it back to the States some switch in his head wouldn't flip to 'wild and crazy'. Any State-siders have these oh-so-obedient dogs??

Hi Heidi, (sorry couldn't resist :))
What you are seeing are well trained dogs. In the US, people often let the dog have the upper hand and don't do the proper training that they need. I have a wonderful dog who doesn't jump on people, comes when called, sits and stays etc. Before you get a dog in Vienna, though, check out the rules for bringing an animal into the US, there might be a long quarantine that might make it difficult.
