Well PCH is the 1, but it does merge with 101 for a while, then separates again when you get into SLO and goes up the coast to Monterey. 101 goes right through SLO up to San Francisco.

I'm just saying that if you plan on visiting SLO, then it'd be wise to take 101 until after you're done here because if you took the 5, it would be around a 1.5 hour detour (3 hours total) to come into town, then go back to the 5.
