BFA,
Here is a witness whereby the Lord Jesus has spoken to my heart and mind concerning this question.
Rom 5:8-10
8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. KJV
Rom 8:24-25
24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
KJV

Do humans need to experience "victory over sin" in order to be "right with God?"
BFA
Being right with God only comes one way.....through trusting in the Spotless Lamb of God. Any other way is to miss the mark.

A binary metamorphosis to or from "right with God" is a paralyzing human projection.Does God bring us into "right relationship with Him" or do we do something to become "right with God?"

We are perfect just as we are and hopefully will get even better as we go along.
If God didn't want it this way, we wouldn't have been afforded the degrees of freedom defining our present creative context.

We have two movements in our lives. One happens when we learn. And the other happens when we fail to learn and find ourselves in more difficult conditions.I've found no evidence to support that we're getting better or worse. I'd be interested in your definition of perfection.

When we fail to learn a lesson it does not make us less perfect. Nor does it make us more perfect when we learn a lesson.
