I dont know if this is the right place to post this.

In every thread I see in CF, there is always volleys of arguments. I think people agreeing to a point is highly impossible in here. Arguing on old earth creation, young earth creation..... Would God care about that ?? All we need to do is follow the commandments of God and trust Him as His saviour. Just arguing in here will not take us to heaven.

Again, I hope this post will not be a seminal place for debate. If opinions are posted, that would be much cooler.

Well thats one belief...others think that nothing you do can possibly affect your chances of getting into heaven ...because there is none.
No hell either.

What we really need to stop doing is living like we are waiting for a prize and start making our world a better place to live in now, act like no gods are going to show up and fix everything a take some responsibility.

Debates and discussions are mental stimulation.
That's what this site is for...to discuss and debate issues and your stances on them.

Some people are not satisfied with disagreement, and are so passionate that THEY ARE RIGHT and everyone should follow THEM that sometimes it does just disintegrate into arguments.
It is a sad thing, considering the subtitle of this site is to "unite all Christians as one body". Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't.

Most times the discussions on here don't really matter in the long run. Just a bottomless pit of opinion after opinion.
What does matter is that we practice what we preach and really, IMO, keep our noses out of others' business and be mindful of our own salvation.

No not exactly. I mean more like stop worrying so much about everyone else's sins and problems while forgetting your own.

agreed, and an unwillingness to accept the viewpoint of others, no matter how reasonable it sounds.

Why do people debate?

Because people need to debate in order to work out their own thoughts on what God cares about.

Would God care about that??

Although you may be sure of what you believe god cares about, people won't always agree. Therefore, it should be discussed.

Does he care about anything? I don't see him caring. I hear people saying he cares and claiming he cares but I don't see anything I can truly attribute to an act of care from God.

And how exactly are we to interpret these commandments? One person does this and say it's God's commandment. The next one does something entirely different and claim the same. So people come here to debate the issue. You might think old/new earth creation arguments mean nothing but they do in the sense that they quesition some of the fundamental principles of a person's faith. The very same faith he/she depends on to follow and interpret Gods commandments.

Just arguing in here will not take us to heaven.

If there are indeed a heaven then I am sure there are many roads leading to it and some might just go through this forum. A word said at the right time and the right way might change a person's life.
