You wish to argue for the sabbath. No problem. Then argue for the sabbath. Saturday and the sabbath are not interchangable terms or ideas. The sabbath is sundown or even to the same as mentioned in this thread. This is the way time was kept defining a day. You wish to say that all day Saturday till midnight is the sabbath and not Sunday to protect your argument against Sunday. At even Saturday evening it is no longer the sabbath by our current method of defining a day. You need consistancy here to be remotely credible. Define the sabbath only one way. Legal is exclusive in that 2 things can not be the same thing. There goes the validity of your argument.

Those are rhetorical questions to which the obvious answer is NO! Verse 18 remains a favoirte of mine. Notice in verses 22 and 23 there is no law against Christian behaviour. There is also no law requiring it either.

The fact of the matter is that this was an extended service or a special farewell service because Paul had to go to Jerusalem to be tried and could have been sentenced to jail. It was not an ordinary worship service or anything like that, so It cannot be used to say that the disciples met and had the Lord's Supper on the first say of the week as a replacement to the Sabbath or as a tradition for Christians.

The key to understanding how Jesus is our Sabbath rest is the Hebrew word sabat, which means “to rest or stop or cease from work.” The origin of the Sabbath goes back to Creation. After creating the heavens and the earth in six days, God “rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made” (Genesis 2:2). This doesn’t mean that God was tired and needed a rest. We know that God is omnipotent, literally “all-powerful.” He has all the power in the universe, He never tires, and His most arduous expenditure of energy does not diminish His power one bit. So, what does it mean that God rested on the seventh day? Simply that He stopped what He was doing. He ceased from His labors. This is important in understanding the establishment of the Sabbath day and the role of Christ as our Sabbath rest.

God used the example of His resting on the seventh day of Creation to establish the principle of the Sabbath day rest for His people. In Exodus 20:8-11 and Deuteronomy 5:12-15, God gave the Israelites the fourth of His Ten Commandments. They were to “remember” the Sabbath day and “keep it holy.” One day out of every seven, they were to rest from their labors and give the same day of rest to their servants and animals. This was not just a physical rest, but a cessation of laboring. Whatever work they were engaged in was to stop for a full day each week. The Sabbath day was established so the people would rest from their labors, only to begin again after a one-day rest.

And contrary to what scriptures say:

"The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath." -Mk. 2:27 (KJV)

Sabbartarians make it all about man serving the Sabbath.

The problem is that the SDA church honors the day of the week, the emphasis is the weekday. All they do, they do in vain, as it is merely "works" without the Holy Spirit. Your reasoning is illogical. If as believe that you are not required to keep the 4th Commandment of the 10, then that means that the you and all other people of the world are not required to obey any of the others, because the 10 were given as a package directly from the finger of God, therefore I would then have license to kill you or steal your money, or commit adultery with your wife, and with impunity. Do you now see the fallacy of your reasoning?
