• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Dear Angelkiss

We do need to keep in mind that our spouse has to deal with us having bipolar and that is not always a fun or easy job!!!

For that reason we need to give them the benefit of doubt. Doesn't mean we allow others to not treat us properly.

ONE DAY AT A TIME SWEET JESUS, PLEASE BE WITH ME AND HELP ME TO REMEMBER:

Yes wonderwaleye, I do agree that it's not easy for a spouse to live with someone that is bipolar.
#1 I explained this to him when we first started dating and he laughed it off and said that mental illness was "over-rated"
#2 Although he now recognizes that the illness is indeed real, he refuses to soak in any knowledge that may be helpful to him in any way.
#3 I have given him all warnings of what may happen in the future and what happens happens. I may have felt sorry for him having to deal with me if he were in fact here most of the time. He stays on the road more than he's home and refuses to find anything closer.....While he is home, he may actually be here 1 day out of the week and then he's fishing, riding the ATV, and hanging with his son (that he works with) most of the time. So it's not like he actually has to deal with me that much. He can't even spot an episode for he's never here enough to see what happens. Then, he gets out on the road and has a bad day, then calls me up, takes it out on me and tries to make it sound as if I started it......No, that's messed up and among other reasons, I'm tired of it and I'm not one to tolerate it. I can live a very happy christian life single and I don't mind if it's for the rest of my life, for I can have the rest of my life to live my all for God with no interruptions.

Well, I agree with both of you, wonderwaleye, & I very much agree with you too angelkiss, you deserve your husbands' time, just seeing what I have seen of you here, you are a very wonderful person, and you have such great things to say about everybody, I truely wish you the best in life, I do think that you can salvage your marraige, give that 5 love languages a try, 200 pages of large print, took me, a non reader 5 days, you'd have it done in a few hours!
Though it is true God doesn't like divorce, it is also true we shouldn't have to live like we are a despensable employee, who cooks, cleans etc. It is a marraige, BOTH parties need to give 100%, none of this 50-50 stuff.

May god Bless you greatly in this time of need, Give God the Battle, and you shall have the victory!

It reminds me of that song: I'm trading my sorrow, I'm trading my shame, I'm laying it down for the joy of the Lord! :) Good for you!

Great song! And Amen!
