Hope this doesnt offend people. I know that the Bible says to pray for your enemies and stuff, and Jesus preached nonviolence. Not too recently I was in a situation where the relationship between me and some girls I knew turned very hostile. I know that I didnt act perfectly, but I never talked about them behind their backs, or tried to inconvenience them, however they didnt extend the same courtesies to me, although they would probablly say that it was my fault. Anyway, I kept my anger in check, and although I dont see them anymore, I wonder if they got the payback for their actions. I pray for their well being and stuff, but I still wonder if they paid the consequences for acting the way they did. I can honestly say that I paid mine. I hope this doesnt seem petty or angry, but I guess I still wonder. Has anyone seen anyone else get paid for their negative actions? Am I wrong to want to know this??? Does the Lord really pay back our enemies for us?

um, it says so in the bible somewhere that God will avenge, and to think about it deeply, it's not really that hard to tell. Consequences always come with what you do, whether it be repentence, a suffering of conscious, hurt, punishment..

God sees everything and judges everything. Eventually we'll have to account for our lives before God when He returns. It's God's justice, not necessarily that He's paying back for us (Big question here. Everything is done according to God's will, not ours) as He loves every sinner.

Periann God does punish people for sure but only those who do not receive salvation. For instance Jesus taught us that "he who takes up the sword shall perish with the sword".Sure looks like we're going to lose most of our presidential candidates. But if they have experienced a genuine salvation experience including the baptism of the Holy Spirit and if they have repented for any murders they have committed or ordered commited by ordering soldiers into battle, then they will be forgiven of their sins and they will not experience any punishment at all.So when God stated "vengence is mine" he was referring to punishment he will carry out against the unsaved AND against those who have lost their salvation due to unrepented sin. It's important to follow Jesus' teaching to love your enemies so they no longer are enemies mentally although not necessarily physically. If you do this, you won't be concerned about any forgiveness God may give them.

What a person sows in life, they reap. If you repay with kindness and mercy to others then you will receive kindness and mercy throughout your life. If you exact vengeance, then vengeance will be exacted. Get the picture? It's better to follow after the Lord and receive and give the good things of life. When another person comes back in later years and expects bitterness and revenge from you and you give mercy, think of the witness you have made of Christ and His mercy towards yourself when youcan smile upon them and have a forgiving heart. Other peoples extremities are always opportunities for grace to flow and let the light of God shine from your life.
