'Venerate comes from Latin veneratus, past participle of venerari, "to revere, to respect, to worship," from venus, vener-, "charm, loveliness."
"And go not after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, and provoke me not to anger with the works of your hands; and I will do you no hurt." Jeremiah 25:6
Mat 4:10 Then Jesus said to him, "Away with you, Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.
Yup and who did Paul imitate.. Christ.. We don't see Christ venerating anyone but the Father..Paul tells us to imitate the faith of our leaders -- imitation is the highest form of flattery, is it not?
Yup and who did Paul imitate.. Christ.. We don't see Christ venerating anyone but the Father..
And since Christ was Pauls example and who He imitated and the list goes down the line We would all be imitating Christ and He only venerated His Father..i dont see your point. why would Christ venerate someone who imitates Himself? we venerate ppl not for imitating ourselves, but for imitating Christ ...
And since Christ was Pauls example and who He imitated and the list goes down the line We would all be imitating Christ and He only venerated His Father..
Keep in mind....venerate means to worship.
Venerate is worship. It is a latin word. No where in scripture are we told to venerate anyone but God..that is not true. theres no point in telling us they are the same when we know they are not. in my heart there is worship for no one but God, but there is love for all His saints.
So?Venerate is worship. It is a latin word. No where in scripture are we told to venerate anyone but God..

Well all that is written is what God will judge His people on..For God does not contradict Himself.. Gods word was written for a purpose that those who call on the name of the Lord could know His heart and thoughts. So that we may be made in His image.. Jesus sure wasn't to keen on people doing what tradtion said nullifying what was written.. He always was drawing people back to it is written..no where in the Scripture are we told that we are confined by Scripture.
who in their right mind would ever call Mary such a name? Who would even think of such a thing? Mary was a married woman and lived a Godly life.. We can see this by the scripture we read.. Who is casting her out? She is at home with her King and Lord.. For her salvation was in the same King as all Christians..So?
Where in the Bible does it say to completely cast out and ignore those who have walked with God? Where in the Bible does it say to call the Theotokos a harlot?
Actually, it is only one of its meanings, or did you only read the bolded bit of the definition in the OP.We are not to venerate anyone, but The Lord Himself!
Keep in mind....venerate means to worship.
