  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

alrighty, well i was looking on GlennBeck.com, and he had a joke on there about this guy burning in hell (a joke) because he was a vegetarian, and it quoted Romans 14:2 saying

"For one believes he may eat all things, but he who is weak eats only vegetables."
the third verse goes on to say that--in simpler words--dont despise the veggie-people, and veggie-people shouldnt judge the rest of us. but, im a youngin' and i would like some advice from others on the meaning of this verse.

thanx

Yes, and another verse used to condemn Vegans and Vegetarians is the one about "forbidding to marry and abstaining from certain foods." Some will say that Veganism is a sign of the End, but that verse is talking about the Gnostics and their asceticism that was false and unecessary, because they puffed it up as a means to salvation. Even to this day, modern Gnostics (like the Nazorean Essenes), live a strictly Vegan lifestyle that they say was taught to them by "Yahshua" and "Maryyam" the Essene "Masters." Veganism and Vegetarianism are not bad in and of themselves, it only becomes so when someone makes these a prerequisite for salvation.

There is nothing wrong with being a vegetarian. It's a healthy way to live if you do it right. The only time it could be questioned is if the vegetarian thinks God is more pleased with him/her because they don't eat meat or if they think they are holier than other Christians because of their diet.

My Bible says
KJV said:
Romans 14:2 For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.
and
KJV said:
Romans 14:3 Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.
Romans 14:4 Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.
Romans 14:5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.

My Bible doesn't call anybody "veggie people".
And who is Glenn Beck? He seems very Political, I didn't linger at his site. Are you spamming for him?

I would suggest your reading all of Chapter 14, paying particular attention to verses 14 and 23. It should be self-explanatory.

Right. And then it's about pride, not vegetarian/veganism.

I am vegetatian. However, I have no problem what so ever with people eating meat. I realize God provided us with animals for food. Is it wrong for me to not eat meat? Is this any worse than chosing not to eat rice or corn?-Stace
