I was a vegan for 5 years and vegetarian for 10. My boyfriend pointed out to me that it was not good for me to be a food snob and think I was "too good" to eat meat. I did sort of feel like that.
So I recently started eating some meat again. I started with fish and just this week actually ate some chicken and turkey.
I feel good. I choose to eat a mostly vegetarian diet for a few reasons, but I am glad to be shook of the restrictions I had placed on myself that were not commanded of me from God.
If someone offers me an items with meat or dairy in it I will not longer have to be rude and decline and act like I am too good for it.![]()
I was a detective for many years. I've heard the same reasoning coming from people who became drug addicts and some even died because they wanted to fit in with the crowd. Take some time to visit hospitals to see the outcome of what we eat. Don't start eating meat again just to fit in if your heart is telling you something different.
Now I'm not saying it's a sin to eat meat but if you can go without it it would be much better for you in the long run. To be a vegtarian and then go back to eating meat is like someone who quit smoking and then went back to it. Many times even the same reasoning is used.
