• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

VBS anyone?

We're doing Lifeway's Outrigger Island theme. Hawaii!

Last night tonight, then family night Friday. (Ours goes Sun-Thurs.)

Will do another next week. Same theme, but mornings. I'll be doing something different, too.

Wow! One week wipes me out. I can't imagine 2. Do you have kids that do both weeks?

Both my kids will do both weeks with me . . . . but at least the 2nd is in the morning, not evening :)

This week, I'm teaching preK class. Next week, I'm signing for a deaf child. Totally different tasks, so at least I should stay awake for it :D :p

Im not a parent but I saw this and wanted to post...hope thats ok. Our church is ages 4-19(most of the churches around my part of town do that age...I think its good!). Last year we did Rescue Zone where ambalances, fire trucks, helicoptirs, police cars, police dogs and even the SWAT team came on our 2nd day. This year my VBS is July 14th-18th and Im not sure what our theme is. Im just happy I get to do it for 2 more years, maybe more if they have a program for adults with disabltes....I hope that they do!

Our church only does VBS for the pre-K- K aged kids. My 15 yr old son helped this year, it was really cute.

For the rest of the kids, grades 1-8 we have 5 weeks of summer camp at the church. Each week is a different theme, the kids attend all day and have lunch and snack provided. The cost is like $100 a week and they go EVERYWHERE.
Rock climbing, paintballing, have special speakers, rent the high end jumping things and have water days. We had 350 kids this year and more planned for next year.

Our pastor loves kids and camp and recruits Sr. High and college kids to help, the kitchen is staffed by our older active church members and generally lots of adults come help as they can durig camp.

It has been a great outreach through word of mouth, several families have come to the church sighting camp and their kids as the reason!

vbs started last night and my son loved it. He made a car air freshner, had a rootbeer float, played a game where you push a ball with a broom and you have to get the ball past Satan and to Jesus' feet..lol. Sang some songs and heard bible stories. Our VBS is aged 4 -6th grade. His group was 4-6 yr olds. The VBS is tues thru fri from 6:30-8:30pm. Then on Saturday from 11-2pm they have a family VBS picnic and will have a big dino jump for the kids and some classic cars in the parking lot and the kids can beep the horns and sit in the cars..lol
