Name: Vayne Bustaurius
Race: Glatorian Cyborg (Hollowstar built)
Age: 271
Occupation: Wanderer
Appearance:
Vayne is an extremely odd looking being. He is quite tall, roughly six feet and two to three inches. His hair is brown and quite long. His face is handsome but has many small scars throughout it.
The odd thing about his entire appearance, however, is not his height or his face but the fact that the vast majority of his body is robotic.
Literally his face, right arm, the right side of his torso and bits of his right leg are all that are still covered in flesh, and even these merely cover a robotic exoskeleton.
Vayne dresses in baggy pants and a greatcoat, these are unnecessary but he wears them to show his difference from the rest of Hollowstar’s android population.
Biography:
Vayne was born in a small solar system whose prime living planet was actually two planets merged into one from an ancient collision. As time passed the beings there progressed, the difference is climate of the two planets spawned different creatures. Both the same in appearance but one had access to the supernatural power of magic. The other planet, in contrast possessed only one ability, a method their scholar’s termed the “Negatus Vitum” which could transform magic into a source of energy. The people used this in the never ending war. Vayne was born into this world during what is best termed their “Medieval phase” he was a young warrior, the son of a warlord, however his planets inhabitants skill at fighting and it’s relatively low technology made it a prime target for more advanced cultures in need of warriors to fight for entertainment and warfare.
Vayne was captured by the race and used in their grand battles, thanks to his natural skill and the abilities of his race he soon was an extremely skilled warrior in their arena’s.
His prowess however came at a price.
A member of Hollowstar watched one of his battles and was impressed by what he had seen, he brought back a series of ships to the planet and captured most of the fighters. Including Vayne.
He was forced to serve the army of Hollowstar, however the ideals of Hollowstar were not that different than that of his home planet, and they gave him to opportunity to induct vengeance on the planet that had captured him.
After many wars however, even the skills of his race abandoned him.
His body was all but annihilated on a suicide mission, when he was discovered some of the medics of Hollowstar decided to rebuild the warrior.
It was a twist of fate that had Oban, the second of the Hollowstar Cyborg Series that spawned the unholy Iban, go and attempt to crush his counterpart at roughly the same time. Oban’s ability to transmit energy to matter allowed him to rebuild half of his body before being destroyed. This half was used to rebuild Vayne.
When he returned conscious Vayne was more machine than man, With his newfound abilities he reconstructed as much of his flesh as was still there.
Then he had the body of Oban modified, if he was to be a machine, he was going to be a unique machine. Between his effort as a war hero and Oban’s heroic death he was allowed to leave the Hollowstar army if he wished. He did so, if only to escape the infuriating sense of duty that he now had to the country that honor would have him despise.
Abilities: Vayne possesses the ability to transmit magic to energy and energy to matter. The result is that if an enchantment is located he will nullify its power and use it to feed into himself. Spells cast on him have the same result but not constant.
The level of energy taken depends in it’s entirety on the strength of the spell or enchantment cast. Unbreakable swords would merely give him the energy to burn someone on contact, while an extremely powerful spell would allow him to fire several maximum strength beams.
In addition he has the power of absorbing energy and using it at a later date.
His cyborg components result in, having the ability to search for magical “hotspots” and sources of energy, great strength and speed, and body having the ability to generat an extremely strong magnetic force, which's intensity can be controlled and reversed on command.
His arms are mechanically based and can be transformed into scanners and offensive beam based weaponry as is necessary.
