ok well,

This band is NOT christian. - "Despite the christian overtones in some of the tracks (especially in I'm Dying), the CD as a whole is nihilstic and very dark."

this was taken from http://www.namesuppressed.com/syneryder/ar-vast.shtml

so there is a solid answer. No these guys are not christian.

God Bless

Hi folks,

Sorry to revive a thread 8 years later (!)... I’m the author of the above linked review and wanted to clarify that the lead singer of VAST (Jon Crosby) did identify as Christian at the time of VAST’s first album. eg In his interview at Ink19.com:

“I think VAST is about searching for the truth. I believe in good and evil and I believe Jesus was the Son of God, but I think people should just go with their heart, and do what they want to do.”

Some of their songs touch on issues of faith (eg Three Doors, Here, I’m Dying), and some of the album’s dark/nihilistic vibe comes from songs about questioning faith or spiritual separation. But they’re definitely not a Contemporary Christian Rock band though, and not all their songs are on those themes.

Anyway, hope that helps anyone who stumbles across this thread, like I did today!
