  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

My hat is off to you, Rooster. Awesome little alternatives there. Suddenly I want to see how all of them turn out. You've got a good thing going there, being I think that most every story ought to have some sort of twist or major plot reversal...

...I just wish I could've come up with those!

lol! Nine tenths of a good story is the bit that people can't predict! The twists, the turns, the plot reversals! It's hard to keep an audience on the edge of their seats when they can guess what will happen next!

Do you write much, avatarblade?

Oh yeah! Since I was - what? How old was I? - about four. Yeah, that doesn't prove much to anyone, but take it for what it's worth: I've loved telling stories from a very young age.

I'm currently writing two books at the same time, hopefully released at around the same time, that are actually pilots for two new Christian-based series. I might also have a screenplay or two evaluated by one of my friends, who actually had one of his movies win a big award at a film-festival...if he ever wants to do something like that again.

And yeah...this topic caught my eye because I myself am a little partial to horror films, despite the fact that so many have so many holes in them. I plan to write a story on a vampire who pursues this random group of people who watched him murder someone (it's not as simple as it sounds, being that there are several twists to it that kind of rewrites/redefines vampiric lore), but right now I'm writing a zombie film that should be quite different from the ones most people are familiar with. But anyway, God bless ya in this pursuit of yours. Maybe we'll be watching one another's films in the future!

Holy - an entire saga?!

That is AWESOME, man! I LOVE continuity! Series are the best! Now I REALLY want to see these things in written form!

Actually, I have a no-fail system for that problem of yours. The way I look at it, a screenplay is just a novel with all the meat removed, just the bare bones and structure of it all. Most of the time, unless I really know absolutely every detail I'm going to write, I write the story as a screenplay first, then I go back, add some details, change the format, and there I go: a novel AND a screenplay. This way, you would have both of them on hand if one of them failed, possibly giving the other a better chance.

But, yeah, there ya go.

Good system!

Thanks a bunch. :D *feels good about myself*

I like it!

Hope so!

I'm better at writing scripts anyway...

Same here!

I shall get to work on those as soon as possible, and show them off when i'm done! lol

Please do. I get angsty when I have to wait. :p :D

:D LOL. I know what you mean, man. I have three finals to study for, and being the moron that I am, I'm still trying to squeeze time in for my own screenplays...but I'll think about it later (yeah right).

Well, in any case, I'll still be praying for you and this massive undertaking of yours. While I'm at it, I'll throw a little selfless plug for one of my own vampire short-stories :p. There's not much to it really, being it's just a short-story, or at the most a novella, but it's about this random group of people exiting a public place - a movie theater? - who see these two guys arguing about something, what I won't say (as that's part of the appeal of the story). Well, the bigger spookier one gets fed up, and deftly breaks the others guy's neck...

Needless to say, the group stand there horrified, as a bunch of mind-numbingly horrified people would be after witnessing this. This guy - who turns out to be a vampire (yes, I know, you're thinking, "If he is, why didn't he just bite that guy's neck instead of break it?" Well...) - catches a glimpse of every single one of them. NUTS. Now this group of people, who knew nothing about one another before, must join together to survive the coming days and figure out a way to do this vamp in before he gets them all first...

...but that's my vamp story's summary, the only one I've ever written. What does everyone think?
