I don't watch them because I do not find them well-written, interesting, or entertaining. I enjoyed watching LOTR and The Hobbit. There are "evil" entities and even a dragon. But they are defined as evil in the story, and they get beat by the good.

Is it wrong or immoral to watch shows like True Blood, The Vampire Diaries, etc or read the books?

Thanks in advanced
I have never watched those, but just the words "Vampire shows" are enough for me to realize if it's wrong to watch, lol.

I read The Hobbit, and the first two LOTR. I saw the first LOTR. I found it a pain to read through.

Yes... I read them in my teens. I suppose I found them long and arduous, but I could not put them down. Same with the Chronicles of Narnia and CS. Lewis's Space Trilogy. C. S. was easier to read, I think: Out of the Silent Planet, Perelandra, and That Hideous Strength. For some reason, I did not finish it. Lord in Heaven, that was 52 years ago...

I loved Buffy the Vampire Slayer! and the spinoff Angel :)
I watched them in reruns but found them a bit formulaic.
Here I am, sounding like a critic. A personal fault of mine.

I've never seen it, but isn't True Blood rather sexually explicit? One source I saw said it "made Game of Thrones look tame when it comes to nudity". That would seem a reason to avoid it independent of anything involving vampires.

I really liked the movie: Bram Stoker’s Dracula. But I watch it as fiction. Nothing more. Then there is the silent film Nosferatu. Strange how they increasingly sexualized such a monster.

I’ve seen both of those and read the book. I also read several of Anne Rice’s books.

The Interview with a Vampire with Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt was a bit much for me.

I've seen it several years ago. I don't remember much details, though. It was very similar to the book, IIRC.

I cannot debate here since I am not Catholic... but allow me to quote:

A woman shall not wear man’s clothing, nor shall a man put on a woman’s clothing; for whoever does these things is an abomination to the LORD your God. Deuteronomy 22:5 (NASB)

Thank you for the Biblical quote :)
