Valentine's Day

As everyone who's walked into Wal-Mart recently knows, Singles Awareness Day is coming fast. I would like to put out a set of prayers this difficult holiday; consoling for all the lonely ones, courage for all those about to take a chance, wisdom for all those singles & otherwise, letting all current relationships be a symbol of God's love instead of a distraction, and God's divine love and guidance on everybody.
For my personal situation, I'm single, but looking to get that changed. There's a good God-loving girl named Sam I like, and I'm currently trying to figure out the whole asking-out process; where to take her when, what kind of note & gift and such to get her, everything like that. I've been doing much prayer here already, and would like a little extra boost for God's guidance on everything. As a complexity, she has recently been dumped, and my last (and only) relationship ended in me being dumped. For the past 2 years, I've been looking for ways to use that painful experience to help other people, and this may be the chance I've been waiting for.
Whatever happens, Lord, please fill us with the Holy Spirit, lead us wherever You need us to be, and let her be a better person as a result of me being in her life. Amen.

Father, I pray that these good intentions will be developed and matured into greater things than they already are. I pray that You will be with both these people as they seek a friend, partner, spouse and companion to love and cherish.
May they each grow in their relationship to You and then in their relationship to each other if they find each other mutually desirable. May Your blessings be upon them as they seek to live for You in this present and ungodly world. Amen.

Tomorrow's the day I ask her out (yes, it's a day early; I'm not sure if I'll see her Wednesday, I know I'll see her tomorrow, and I don't know if there's someone else who'll get to her first if I wait). It's weird; I felt nervous, turned to God, thinking it was lack of faith, and I suddenly had the thought, "It's good to go through this experience." I suppose it's not so much lack of faith, as it is just part of the process; something would be incomplete if I just went in calmly!
Maybe lack of nervousness in such situations later when I have deeper faith will happen; for now, I'm holding on to the previous thought.
No idea if Sam will say Yes or not; she seems to have been acting a little awkward around me lately (good sign?), but I just want prayers for her, that she may make the best decision & get the best memories from it as will serve God.
That was a badly written sentence, but I think the idea's there.

I just looked up the famous Corinthians verses on love; right now, 3 points are really helping me out:
--Love is patient
--Love always trusts (in this case, God & the Holy Spirit's guidance)
--Love always hopes

Oh, and one more thing (the last in this series of posts, I promise): I had a dream that I somehow knew was God showing me how this would play out. I was talking to her, gave her the gift with the note to ask her out, I saw the Holy Spirit come down & fill us both completely, then she looked up, and said--"Spoilers", a different voice playfully said, as it all cut to black. (For those of you familiar with Doctor Who, it was the woman that had her time stream & the Doctor's run backwards, so she had the notebook filled with the adventures they would have together. Whenever the Doctor went to open the book, she would say "Spoilers"--that was the playful voice I heard).
Good to know that God will fill us with the Holy Spirit, and leave the rest to be discovered; life would be too boring if He told us everything!
