  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

LDR, and he's going to be gone on an internship for about three months. He leaves right before Valentine's Day so not sure if we'll be able to talk that day or not. *crosses fingers* I hope we can though!

I hope so, too!

We have more important dates to look forward too. People go overboard with this Valentine's Day stuff. I'd rather save it for a more important day.

Very true - it's become a novelty really for some people. I remember back in high school that it was a chance for groups to do fundraising by selling roses and stuff, but as I said in an earlier post, personally I'm more keen to celebrate 4 days after Valentine's Day since that's the "anniversary" date for Lauren and I. And we're trying to find a day (which'll most likely be between the 14th and the 18th) for a nice day together with dinner somewhere :)

Valentine's Day is fun for those new to the game. If this is your first love, the commercialized holiday doesn't seem as candy coated as past years. Being in an LDR makes it difficult to be so far apart, but hopefully we somehow get in touch during the next week.

I just have a bit of a question on this subject. My bf and I are coming up on our 3 year anniversary soon, and we are planning on saving the big date for then. But I would still like to do something small but nice for Valentine's. Such as flowers, if I were the guy, but I'm not. So I was wondering, does anyone have an idea of something small but nice for a guy on Valentine's day? :)

If there is a CD he wants you can get him that. I think my girlfriend is actually hand making something. She told me, "Yeah, don't expect much for Valentine's Day." ^_^

So you can always make something from hand. Write him a letter of encouragement if he enjoys encouraging words (some guys won't care for it). You can always cook him a meal. As a guy, I love food, and I haven't met any other guys who don't care for food.

Oh thanx so much, I used to write poetry and he loved when I wrote him poems, and I cook for him sometimes, so I can make him something too. So thanx, that was easy.
