I believe it is a sect of the Catholic Church that still holds to certain pre-Vatican I beliefs. There are a few members here that identify with it. You might want to also post this in General Theology.

LOL. I can't wait until Rick sees the comment about his church being a "sect" of the RCC. 
The only time I've seen him lose his cool on these boards was when I insinuated the same thing. Come to think of it, I ended up going on "vacation" as a result of all that. Hmmmmmm.......I'll be quiet now. Bye.
