UT Special Announcement-Restructure coming to UT...

Special Announcement affecting the Unorthodox Area and subforums...Effective immediately:

• All UT sub-forums will be dissolved and UT will be a fora for all discussion of unorthodox theology and fellowship.

• The UT sub-forums were inaccurately being seen as both safe havens for specific groups (which was never the intent when creating them), and as a place to focus on said groups and address them at point blank range (also not something we envision here for CF.) This in turn made the areas more like turfs to be protected at all costs, which is also not a fair burden to put upon any group in here. By unifying the area we hope to remove these unfortunate outcomes and not put any one unorthodox group under the microscope of debate alone, but allow discussion and debate to exist in a more general way from now on.

• The debate in these forums are expected to conform to site rules whether the poster holds unorthodox views or not.

• Threads started in forums outside of UT that discuss Unorthdox doctrines or groups (as CF defines Unorthodox) will be relocated to the new UT Forum. This way UT members will have an opportunity to address topics that are related to their set of beliefs.

• The combining of these sub forums into one is also intended to not give favoritism to some unorthodox groups over the others.

I noticed that only the threads in the subforums in which the last post was made about April 4, 2010 or later were merged into the unorthodox theology forum. Could the rest of the threads be merged as well?

Well I could go get more I figured you wouldnt need any older than that but want me to get them???? How far back should I go?

My choice would be all of them. Some time ago when the liberal theology (not congregation) forum was merged with the unorthodox forum, all of the threads were merged. Sometimes the same topics come up again, and it is very nice to be able to refer back to the old threads and posts, or even link back to a past discussion. Sometimes a discussion is dropped for a time, and then picked up again.

It would be helpful of the threads in the achived sections could be viewed by the forum members. Even if we are not able to post in these threads, it would be helpful to be able to read them. There are topics that are still being discussed in unorthodox theology which include ideas that were explained in the threads that are no longer viewable. It would be helpful to be able to go back and read what was prevously said in order to ensure that our comments are accurate, and so that we could view references that were given for theological issues. I would appreciate being able to do so, and I believe that others would as well.
