Using Flags and glory hoops

Has anyone used the flags and/or glory hoops yet? If so, could you please give me some ideas on how they work. The kids was asking me if we could do those and I told them that I would check into it for them and see what I could find out. Also, does anyone know where I could find pattern at for making them or instructions? We want to make them ourselves. YAY!!! I love them!! We use tabrets ( glory hoops) and flags all the time and also glory rings ( finger rings which are the same as tabrets but go on your fingers.) . Its an awesome way to worship. I'll email you later!! Love ya, Celine

I've never heard of glory hoops, can anyone describe them?

We use flags fairly frequently and find that they can be pretty heavy, especially if you are planning on really dancing with them as opposed to using them to create a moving backdrop. It depends on the age and stamina of the dancers. We buy ours and they are'nt too expensive, we as a church do own some smaller flags which are more appropriate for children but have found that the look they creative just isn't effective enough.

DANCE ITEMS - GLORY HOOPS Glory hoops are used primarily in slow dances. With them, any arm movement during worship becomes a way of "painting the air" with the glory of God.

Glory hoops can be used singly, or in pairs (one in each hand). They are held lightly between the thumb and fingers, waving them through the air. It is best to always lead with the back of the hand, to avoid the strands getting tangled around the hoop.

Almost any arm movement can be used. However, movements that are head high, or overhead tend to look the best. Waving back and forth, circles, and figure eights are all common hoop movement.

We make our Glory Hoops from aluminized mylar "Christmas tree icicles" and embroidery hoops. They are available in an assortment of colors, in two different sizes. Due to the seasonal nature of material availability, please check with us for availability before ordering.

Colors available: red (blood), gold (divinity), silver (sanctification) Hoop shown is a 8" "fire" hoop, colors red and gold.

Now the ones we use looks a bit different ( and prettier lol) the part you hold has no middle or has a strip of material that doesnt completly cover it so you can hold on to it better.

ah i see, we use ribbons, but they have a short stick as a handle rather than a hoop. We find that younger children need shorter ribbons (to avoid tangling) and the effect is not as great. We have thin 1-2in ribbons in a variety of primary colours, some that have a variating rainbow effect and also pannelled ribbons.

See the thing is each color means something ( white : holy spirit etc...) so you kinda want to use that instead of the rainbows...but the thing i would suggest for younger children is finger rings.

I know, I meant that we use the same things but the handles aren't hoops.

flags like colorguard uses? cause I found instructions on making flags, and I've actually made one myself, it was very helpful.
