There is no point in going over this again and again Charles, I know that you are very committed to what you believe. Your wanting to go back to Torah, keeping the Sabbath on a Saturday, and all it entails. I dont know why you think that Jesus is going to be more pleased with me if I "try" to keep the commandments, when I already am through His love. It just baffles me truly.

How do you know if have sinned or not if you have not read the law. For sin is breaking the law. John is speaking to people who DID read the law and did their best to perform it. The church today is not real sure what sin really is, which is evidenced by the way churchmen live and really big moral issues that they can not seem to take a stand on.

Very good question, and it follows with the practical aspects of our discussion.
Because we (as born again believers) are spirits that have the nature of God in us... our spirits tell us what is correct and what is not correct. Love is the driving power of our righteousness. I do not know about you... but I know when I miss it. My spirit convicts me. My conscience tells me all about it. Since the spirit of Christ has replaced my former spirit, I now have a trustworthy source and guide. The conscience is now the law of the believer. A living document of the love law of the spirit.

1 Peter 3:16 KJV
16 Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.

2 Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered? Because those serving did not still have conscience of sins, having once been cleansed.

We, as believers, have the love law written in our spirits. Why would we want to revert back to a mere external reference written on stone when it is written on the fleshy tablets of our hearts?
If I find myself in darkeness and under conviction of the spirit... I head for my prayer closet and confess everything I can think of to get the sin forgiven. Sometimes I do not even know what the sin is! But I feel the effects of the unrighteousness in my being and labor with it until I am forgiven and cleansed.
