I was thinking more along the lines of these poor unemployable soles.

They will use their degree to be a janitor at a church. How sad.
So now it's okay to break the law and refuse YECs hire?
This reminds me of the dystopian comedy Incompetence by Rob Grant in which it is illegal to fire someone for being incompetent. Note the words "dystopian" and "comedy". Hiring incompetent people turns out not to be a great strategy.
How do you know he is "incompetent," until you hire him? This reminds me of the dystopian comedy Incompetence by Rob Grant in which it is illegal to fire someone for being incompetent. Note the words "dystopian" and "comedy". Hiring incompetent people turns out not to be a great strategy.
How do you know he is "incompetent," until you hire him?
How do you know he is "incompetent," until you hire him?
I've said this many times before, and it bears repeating here:Trial run
How do you know he is "incompetent," until you hire him?
That's a bad analogy.Would you hire a person with a degree on veterinary medicine as a medical doctor to treat people?
Name one button or one lever a YEC can't push or pull on the job, that an evolutionist can.
Whether he did or not, I'll say this much:The same way you would know not to hire a doctor who practiced medicine in the style of the 1400s. You'll have to ask Kevin to get a proper answer, but I got the impression that his company had had experience with YEC geologists.
Whether he did or not, I'll say this much:
If he refuses to hire people because they are Young Earth Creationists, or Young Earth Geologists, then he had better get ready for a legal battle.
And for the record, I would like to see what is on an application that would alert a law breaker to immediately throw it away.
I'm still at a loss as to what would prevent a YEC from doing his job.Petroleum geology is not about pushing buttons. It's about the origin, occurrence, movement, accumulation, and exploration of petroleum, and you simply cannot understand that (or predict where to find petroleum), if you think the earth was created 6,000 years ago (with or without petroleum in it).
I'm still at a loss as to what would prevent a YEC from doing his job.
Boss: Go get me that 15,000-year old ice core sample down in the basement.
YEC: I can't. I don't know what they look like.
Boss: They look like a 5000 year sample, only three times longer.
YEC: No such a thing.
Evolutionist: I'll get it.
I'm still at a loss as to what would prevent a YEC from doing his job.
Ya ... like pushing buttons or pulling levers ... right? You got it. But just in case you didn't, predicting where petroleum is to be found (which is the job of the petroleum geologist) involves more than just fetching ice core samples.
What job? They don't even get an initial interview.Nothing is preventing them from doing their job ...
Ya ... like pushing buttons or pulling levers ... right?
Show me one thing an evolutionist can do pertaining to his, that a YEC cannot.
And for the record, what would you do if an evolutionist at your place got saved and became a YEC?
Fire him?
If he didn't mention his conversion, would you notice a decline in his workmanship over time?
I know the oil company I work for does not interview young earth geologists. That is because they can't find oil.
What job? They don't even get an initial interview.
