I'm a migraine sufferer too - have you ever tried Excedrin Migraine?  That has been the best thing for me (I can't take Imitrex or Sumitriptan - have severe reactions to them.)  The excedrin doesn't take the headache away completely, but for me, it takes enough of the edge off so that I can function normally.  I take 2 pills every 4 hours faithfully until it is completely gone.

Also - two other neat tricks for migraines that "sooth" more than anything.  Depending on what you prefer, you can use heat or cold.

For Cold, take a bag of beans (black eyed peas work great) and keep them in the freezer - label them your headache beans or something - when you get the headaches, take the bag of beans (which are nice and cold) and put them on your head, neck whatever is hurting the worse - the beans conform to the shape.  I had a doctor who swore by this.

I, personally can't stand the ice packs or anything cold, so I use the "heat" method.  Take a dishtowel, fold it in half and sew up three sides of it.  Fill it up with uncooked rice, (but don't make it too full) and sew up the last side.  When you get the headache, put it in the microwave for a few minutes (until it is as hot as you can stand it) and put it on your head/neck/etc.  It does the same as the beans - conforms to the shape.  It's an old Chinese remedy and it is really soothing.  I love my rice bag - use it for headaches, backaches, stiff necks, etc.  The only downfall is that it smells like rice!  haha!  :)
