  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hi. I saw this and it caught my eye. Yes, my husband found one (I actually found it for him and e-mailed him the listing, lol). He had applied for several but he did so knowing he didn't qualify specifically, but just to get his resume "out there". This one now, actually was a God send, it fits his expertise to a "T" and was what he was looking for. We did want something out of the area in another state, but we knew we'd be more than willing to stay if something came up here. Now, he's 12 miles away from his work, as opposed to 51 and into the district (DC) from home like he was when he was active duty (he just retired, and is still on terminal leave, but is working at this new job).
It's a GS12 level, pretty decent. Pay is less than the military, but his retirement makes up for the difference which is fine, we didn't expect to get rich unless he wanted to commute to DC.

He applied in Nov/Dec timeframe last yr. We got an e-mail confirming his answers to questions in March, another one just like it early April, an e-mail mid April for interview, then we didn't hear back for a while, almost June, maybe. Then it was an e-mail to call asap, and he ended up getting it. What they told him was that his leadership in deploying was the deciding factor between him and a career AF guy, who hadn't led troops and equipment through a foreign country.
