  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

US problems

Which generation is to blame the most for our problems?

  • The baby builders, WWIers, (ages 67-100)

  • The baby boomers, Post WWII, (ages 45-66)

  • Generation X, the brat pack, (ages 23-44)

  • Generation Y, the ADHD club (ages 0-22)

  • It goes back even before these.

  • The worst is yet to come.

This was inspired by my sister. We disagree on the outcome. What are your thoughts?

please don't put "the worst is yet to come" just because you may believe in the growing pangs and the great tribulation. if you answer that one, base it on because you feel they just will do worse due to how they are being raised. Thanks in advance.

Gozreht,

You did not indicate what kind of problems in the US your question relates to: Politics? Climate? Social Unrest?

I venture to say that the class-divide in America will increasingly lead to social unrest.
It's funny to observe that conservative commentators tend to blame
the low income groups striving for 'class warfare' while perhaps remembering events during the 19th and 20th century when the exploitation of the lower class by greedy corporations led indeed to class warfare in the form of strikes and the establishment of labor unions.

My best, Kutte

I put "the worst is yet to come" mostly because of human nature and Murphy's Law.

Anything that can go wrong, will. And what with technology and identification chips, as well as more and more sophisticated spying equipment... I shudder to think what we might become, given time.

DCJazz,

Heaven only knows. Technology may eventually overtake human abilities to control it.

I blame the Baby Boomers for not imparting to Generation X the moral and spiritual values needed to keep this country the God centered nation it should be. Then I blame Generation for being deluded into helping the effort to eliminate God as a viable entity in this nation. And yes, the worst is yet to come.

All of the above? That is a good question. Maybe I should have changed the question as well to who is most to blame. I will remember that when I do the commentary part next month on the blog. Thanks for pointing that out. Sorry about not being thorough about that.

How did you get inside my head? I agree. Hope you read my comments next month on the subject when the voting is done. And I hope I can use yours with your permission.

The very fabric of society is being torn apart. The powerful are reaching absolute power and they will rule the world, with every drop in the financial world, they gain a new footing. The next drop will be in the next three years, in which they collapse this society and in desperation, the people will clamor for their solution.. not that the people like it, but because the powerful are offering the only one avenue as the solution.. Three years of chaos and turmoil will have the public grasping for any solution. Sold .. to the highest bidder.

MightyTurtle,

How do you change things? I am in total agreement with you but when I do my commentary later on this month, I would like opinions. How do you change things?
By no means am I doing enough, if anything. I try to lead by example, but taking care of my wife and kids comes way before trying to invoke change.

Shouldn't these go hand in hand? Leading by example should take care of your wife and kids.

I posted this poll on another christian forum and you wouldn't believe the resistence I am getting about answering the question. They sit there and write paragraphs on why what they feel is wrong with the question which took them at least two-three minutes alone just to type when all it takes is 10 seconds to click their choice. It's like if they answer the question the world may come to an end.

Just in case some are wondering the question is valid. It asks which is MOST to blame, not which one IS to blame. It's just an opinion. They said they are refusing to answer since it is not valid. Oh, well. Sorry for my rant, but some people work harder at getting out of things than by just doing one small task.

Pet peeve. :)

I voted that the baby boomers are most to blame here in America. That is my generation. We are to blame for the genX-ers and and genY-ers lack of comprehension about the struggles of life, we fed them wrong with too much sugar and french fries because we mothers no longer took the time to prepare healthy meals of fruit and vegetables. We did not encourage healthy living and healthy loving as we should have. We created t.v. and plopped our children in front of it and it became our children's nanny. We promoted loose morals. We did not teach respect for all people, especially honor your parents. And most of all, we made it look like life was easy with too much leisure and not enough work ethic. Kids of genX were cast into the deep end of the pool without swimming lessons and ended up drowning, but not before having offspring themselves who were conceived by unhealthy bodies... rant, rant, rant. I could go on and on.
