Like a suicide bomber's first priority is survival? Their first priority is doing whatever for Allah. Including suicide as long as they're taking infidels out in the process.

A regime's leaders first priority is not "doing whatever for Allah". Their first priority is to retain power.
Then why is the US and Israel stopping Iran's process towards that a problem?

Bombing is not a long term solution. And if anything, such actions will only incentivize Iran to pursue a nuclear weapon.

All extremism is problematic and likely to blossom. If you’re accustomed to that rhetoric or it’s a regular topic in your home you may not realize it’s strange or something others don’t partake in. It isn’t an example you’d display to your loved ones or wish for them to emulate. As these ideas grow in popularity they’ll find their way to schools. Much like we’ve seen with incels. Bad ideas have a habit of spreading. If you’ve lived long enough you’ve seen it play out in our culture.

I’ve definitely lived long enough. You are correct, but extremism doesn’t have to blossom. It does from time to time and produces horrible results, but I’ve seen extremist views die long before they blossomed. We have to keep vigilant. The promoters prey on the weak and angry, and we have too many people like that now.

How much do you know about Jihad? When they chant death to the US, they really truly mean it. Probably at any cost. Dying in a holy war means guaranteed glory in the afterlife. Think about all the people who drank the purple kool-aid.

It's pretty of hard for them to pursue it when they don't have anything left to work with. What if they start up again? The US will do the same thing again. Well maybe. If a super woke US administration is in charge in the future they might be allowed to complete it.

If the US administration is woke enough they won't need to. Building a bomb is expensive and they would much rather use the technology for electric power.

Would you rather have a real nuclear bomb or an increased incentive? Your chances of survival are better with the second option.

I've lived and worked in a Moslem country for two years, and they really mean it. Here is a short story you might enjoy. The Moslem Brotherhood put a bomb in the place I worked. A Moslem security officer saw it. He was familiar with that type of bomb, so he disarmed it. He was so proud of himself that he brought it into the director's office and put it on the desk.

So did I, but I didn't have anything like such an exciting experience, though I was generally well-received as an individual. Be prepared to have your anecdotes denounced here as antisemitic, America-hating lies.

Thank you for your warning. One thing I found interesting is that Moslem friends told me that the extremists wanted me dead, but they didn’t hate me, because I was “a people of the Book.” Atheists, on the other hand, they both hated and wanted dead.

That's why the Right is so eager to suppress the fact that Jews, Muslims and Christians were able to live together in Palesine relatively peacefully for centuries before the Mandate. Palestine was considered a refuge for Jews fleeing the pogroms of Europe. Tens of thousands fled there during the Reconquista. But oh, no. Muslims have always wanted to kill all the Jews and will not rest until every drop of Jewish blood is shed and then they will be coming after Christians.

I have a real question for you. If a Moslem doesn’t want to kill Jews and Christians, is he or she a bad Moslem? I tried to read the Quran and gave up, because it was too disjointed for me. However, many Moslems feel that they don’t have to do everything it says.

In fact the Koran is the source of the declaration of Jews as special "People of the Book." The Muslims have the Quran but they have an "Old Testament" too: Our Old Testament (the Tanakh of the Jews) plus the Synoptlcs. The Quran is largely given over to being a commentary on those works. It was the Christians who invented antisemitism; the Muslims are mostly just anti-Zionist.

But this isn't true. The Amad project and their enrichment to 60% in an underground bunker 300 feet below the surface demonstrates that they're not just interest in this technology for civilian purposes.

One source I read is that the modern Islamic extremism started with British rule of India. A paper I read long ago said it was during the British rule of Egypt. I think it started when the Jews rejected Mohamed in the 600s, and it raised it head ever since. Antisemitism seems to have gotten its biggest start in Spain, but it was here and there in Europe for a long time. I don’t think you can say that burning churches in Europe today is anti-Zionism and not antisemitism, but it is hard to separate the religious from the cultural. I still don’t know if peaceful Muslims are bad Muslims.

There was no indication that Iran had decided to build a nuclear weapon....based on the latest information briefed by the Director of National Intelligence. The takeaway from Sunday's bombing? Build it as fast as possible.

I think Trump did the right thing, but Russia is now considering giving a bomb to Iran.

As a traditional conservative who supported Reagan and Bush's foreign policies, I support President Trump's actions on Iran. No other president had the courage to do what President Trump did on Saturday.

I hope President Trump follows through on his recent talk about regime change. It will be challenging, with American boots on the ground in another prolonged Middle East conflict and limited chances of success. Perhaps this time we might have better luck bringing democracy to Iran than we did in Iraq.

I understand that achieving success may be challenging and prospects are limited. Nonetheless, I endorse the initiative and hope that President Trump will make a firm commitment to it.

It is noteworthy to observe how the MAGA movement, which has advocated for "no more war" and an "America First" isolationism over the past 9 years, now appears to support actions that are completely contrary to their previous stance. This suggests that their convictions are not deeply rooted, but rather aligned with whatever President Trump endorses.

Today, they will claim these airstrikes are one-offs and not a war. However, if President Trump sends American troops to Iran, the MAGA supporters who oppose war will adopt a "we kill them before they kill us" ideology and adopt a preemptive stance, arguing that such actions are necessary to prevent potential threats.
