Why or why not? (Please explain as much as information as possible) It's adultery, it's a sin. She should have ended her marriage properly before doing something like that. She should have stayed faithful to her husband even if he wasn't around.
How would you treat, or what would you say to Hester if you were to encounter her? Ask her simply to repent, she shouldn't be exiled for what she did. Hate the sin not the sinner.

How would you treat, or what would you say to Hester if you were to encounter her? I would be friendly to her. It's not in anyway my place to judge her or condemn her. I'd leave that up to God and the people involved. I'd encourage her and her husband to keep and love the baby.

Why or why not? (Please explain as much as information as possible) No, what she did wasn't OK. Sleeping with someone you aren't married to is bad enough; sleeping with someone you aren't married to when you're already married is worse.
How would you treat, or what would you say to Hester if you were to encounter her? I would treat her like anyone else; maybe I'd be a bit nicer than usual. Although she sinned, she is still a person. I don't think she'd want to be treated like she has a big gaping wound, so I'd just be nice. If she wanted to talk about her past or something like that, I'd listen. Basically, I'd just be friendly. If the opportunity came up, I'd encourage her to repent.

Why or why not? (Please explain as much as information as possible) While I completely understand WHY she did it, she should have tried to seperate instead of cheating outright. She had a child that was persecuted by Puritan society as much as she was, and the minister she had the affair with was killed indirectly by it. His guilt and anguish, but also her husband's vengeful poisoning of the man's spirits as he pried into his life and treated what he could of his physical ailments.
How would you treat, or what would you say to Hester if you were to encounter her? Hester was an honorable woman who made a mistake. She was a great public servant, even though she was mistreated. She has already repented for her sin, and been more than punished. I would treat her with dignity, respect, and open friendliness towards a fellow Christian and human being.
