Dear sister Judith,
Greetings in Jesus lovely name. We are still awaiting the m-bag of bibles you sent last time and I believe they will be here soon.
Eleven of our brethren in Dandiku a town in Borno State had been held hostage since the past two weeks by militant muslims. Borno is a muslim dominated state. The muslims there are worried with the spread of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Their request is that the four major churches in the town should be demolished by our brethren and that our brethren should leave the town before they release our brethren they are holding hostage. They threaghten to kill them in one month if their demand is not met.
The police are still carrying out investigation to know where our brethren are but to no avail. Several muslims had been arrested and interrogated but they all claim they are not part of this evil act. The police are not taking it easy because their act goes against the Nigeria constitution which gives the right to 'freedom of thought, conscience and religion'.
Please join us in prayer for God's intervention.
There are several displaced children here from war
troubled country in west africa called Liberia.
When the Liberiawar started, the Nigeria government sent several ships
to convey the Nigerians there back home. Thousands of
Liberians mostly children entered the ships to Nigeria
to excape death. Most of them roam the streets of Lagos and other towns and villages here. It is sad to see the kind of life these people are living and no one cares about them.
Two of them about the age of ten were found dead in the outskirts of Lagos few days ago. God is using us to rehabilitate twelve mothers and 22 children. We help to provide clothes, food, drugs and shelter. Our brethren has tried so much in the past three weeks. We need others to assist us in this great glorious task. What ever is done for this people is done for Christ. I do not want to send them away because no one cares about them, although we may not accept any more. If the Lord provide and ask you to help please do not hesitate. I want you to also help to bring this issue to others who may be able to help.
Please pray for my friends in Nigeria, that they will have the strength and stamina to do what they Lord is calling them to do. And please ask your church or denomination to get involved with what is going on in Liberia. Call your congressman, write to the President, write to the Red Cross and ask them to send aid and peacekeepers immediately.
The situation is over-burdening our brothers and sisters in Christ in Nigeria, churches who are already so poor they have one Bible for the whole congregation, people so poor they don't have food and clothing for their children.
Please be a prayer warrior to end the conflict that is raging in Liberia. For we do not battle against flesh and blood enemies, we battle against the powers and rulers of evil in the heavenly realms.
