Well, with my situation ready to be resolved one way or another within the next couple of weeks the enemy has taken a new approach. My brother had been married for 33 years and now that has fallen apart. Upon hearing that he became suicidal and was checked into a hopital. Released a week later he then heard that the divorce was irreconcilable he became despondent and set fire to the family home. It burned to the ground along with the cars. After being arrested he was jailed and then placed back into a hospital. After a lifetime of teaching he has now lost everything and doesn't have the network of church and community for support. He anticipates being out in time for trial this next week. I sincerely ask for your prayers as he faces whatever is to come during the next few months AND that this become an opportunity for him to be led to our LORD. In truth, I have prayed for years that something take him to his knees, but could never have anticipated this. I too could use a few by way of suiting myself up with my own spiritual armor during my own challenges of the next few weeks. Prayer WORKS! The love and forgiveness of Jesus can change even all of this into a cause for celebration in the future, but I know there will be some serious spiritual warfare in the next weeks. CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I man Jail is a horrible place. I'm sorry yer brother had to go there. I pray he can find hope and salvation, pray that you can help in with word and deed, that he may take heart in his family. I pray for God's understanding and forgiveness. May God set him free from Prison, and from misory.

why won t his church help him ? oh silly me what was I thinking ? churches drop you like a hot potatoe once you go to jail.

If you re-read the post, it says that his brother never knew the Lord and that he had been praying that something would bring him to his knees. The church did not abandon him because he was never a part of it.
I will be praying that God is able to get and keep this man's attention and God's perfect will will be done in this situation.

I apologize for my previous post. it made me tink of several young people i knew several years ago who got in with the wrong crowd and our church dropped so fast. The pastor wouldn t even go to see them in jail.

The breakup of a marriage is tough, going to jail is tough, and sometimes we do things out of emotions.

No need to apologize... I'll personally vouch how a church will drop you when you're in a life's crisis... (why I worship alone now)
