  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I want to say thank you all for the prayers you said for my family recently. This request is for a close friend of my wife's and a fellow Catholic so I thought I would post it here. It's better in her words than it is in mine.

The entries from Thursday describe everything. Anne is a real sweetheart and needs all the prayer she can get right now. Thank you so much brothers and sisters!

In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti,

Remember O Most Gracious Virgin Mary that never was it known, that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother. To thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy, hear and answer me, Amen.

Gloria Patri, et Filio, et Spiritui Sancto.

I will pray! As their friends, you might want to get in contact with Compassionate Friends and see if they have any suggestions on how you can best support them through this time. How agonizing! My best friend in the whole world had a baby who was born stilborn at 40 weeks the day after last hearing her hearbeat-- 2 children and 4 years later she still struggles with the emptiness left by the death of her daughter...

Our Lady of Sorrows, comfort us!

In my feeling very sorry for this mother I thanked God for the health of all my children now and during pregnancies. This brought to my mind what I heard a priest say, “Joy is the conscious possession of a good.” I can know the joy of having my children all born healthy when I am made aware of the tragedies of others. But it does not make me feel any better, I feel so sad for this mother. I really ask God to give this woman grace abundant to get through this.
