Urgent Help Needed

This request is geniune and as I have been off line due to problems with my ISP I have not been able to contact anyone.

I have a very good SDA friend who has just started a PhD in New Orleans. He now has lost everything including a place to study at to continue his PhD.

This a small part of an email he sent me this morning.

"In the past week I have arranged to come to the University of Michigan...If I bring my return flight forward and return to Australia, in terms of research, the second half of this year is virtually written off. Whereas if I stay here, with access to a very good library I have some chance to recoup some of my losses, and perhaps even to be ready for SBL in November. Traianos Gagos is arranging library access and a place to work.

I have somewhere to stay for the first couple of nights but an wondering if you might be able to help me find some (hopefully, very) cheap lodgings, perhaps a room in a nearby church or with a church member for about the next three months?"

He needs a room to stay in for the next three months. If anyone can be of help they could send me a PM and I will pass the information onto him Also PM me if you require more info about his situation.

Cliff, if you'd like, I can try calling an Adventist church in Michigan (near the college) on Tuesday and inform them of this situation. I'm sure they would be happy to help out in any way possible. People have been very wonderful about opening up their homes to those in need.

Unfortunately we're too far away from Michigan to let him stay with us. I'll need to find the college on a map to get the general idea of where he needs to stay in order to be close.

God protects His people, he will be fine!!! We'll all help in any way that we can.

If he can't get help directly from the University then I am absolutely positive that he can get help from the Adventist church there in Michigan.

Cliff, he's wanting a name of someone at the university? I don't know of any names, but I noticed on the rolodex portion of that site that they had names and numbers for Human Resources. That's his best bet. And yes, please keep us posted!

Wondering if any clicked here for a browse through Scott's seminar.

In a few days time I will be off line for a week due to going to our Conference Camp so hope that contact can be made by Scott with one of you guys before then.
