• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Psalm 15

1Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
2He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.
3He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.
4In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the LORD. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not. 5He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.

This is a discussion board. Any of us could fill the board with our favorite Bible verses, except that this is not a personal bulletin board. If there were some discussion asked for, that would be different.

Maybe we could merge these great Scripture verses into one thread where we can post our favorite verses....
I think a staffer has to do that? I think one thread for verses would be wonderful -

I wasn't aware that every thread in this section had to be discussion threads?
I love posted scripture like this - imho, we need more of God's word proclaimed instead of just our own personal issues & opinions.

It seems to me that a little common sense would solve everything. If a person posts a single verse or passage once in awhile--one that they think is especially meaningful at this time, etc. --few would argue against that. But if we get one after another with no identified reason for posting them, that would almost be religious spam. When this has happened before but with someone we don't know, the response is almost always resentment about them using us as a captive audience to preach at. We don't say that with friends, but the posts read the same.

So if there were some felt need to post passages more than occasionally, why not just do us the favor of identifying the reason for putting up that particular passage for us all to read and/or say something about what makes it important to the poster or ask the readers what they think of some part of the passage, etc? Something like that.

I think the original poster meant no harm. :) With her permission, maybe these threads will be joined with the Scripture verses thread.

If this is a discussion, I guess it would be okay to discuss the scripture that started this thread.
I love God's Word. :preach: I think this scripture describes the difference between peoples. Like the sheep and the goats. If we walk uprightly and do good to people, we will inhabit His Holy Hill, and dwell with the Lord in His tabernacle.
But if we go around ripping people off, "usury", which is simply high interest rates and behaving like a bunch of robbers, we'll be rewarded for that as well.
Or that's what I got from this anyway. Kinda like the banks.:help:
Good scripture Shuntmama. Thank you....got the old wheels turning in my head.
God bless you, Prisca1:wave:
