I have taken all the wonderful advice you guys have given me and tried to be there for my friend. It is hard, because they seemed to be the perfect couple and if they cannot stay married, how will there be any hope for the rest of us. My friend has decided to focus on herself and not be with either guy at the moment. She told me if she focuses on God maybe he will give her an answer. She said it is just hard because the guy who is her husband says he is a Christian but does not show it by his actions and her first true love that is a humanist acts more Christian than many who profess that they know Christ. I admit it confuses me because would not the husband who has the Holy Spirit be more convicted and how can someone who does not have Christ have more conviction, how does that work ?

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
