  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

i made a prayer request on a retreat that me and my bros went on on the 26th to the 28th.  anyways, here's what happened.

me and my middle where in the same group.  at the beginning of the retreat, they split everyone into small groups.  and with the groups, you have these discussions after the message.

as for me, i got to get a lot of my feelings out.  well, i got to talk to my team leader the last night we where there, and i got a lot of encouragement.  i know i still need more help, but i think i do feel less condemnation now.  and also, i did get a lot of questions answered too.

my bro has gotten all his prayer requests he made at the retreat answered.  esp. about his future.  he now sees that if God wanted him to be a pastor or missionary, He would give him that desire.  like before that, he was really worried cuz he wanted to serve God, but just not in that.  i kinda understand that, because i went through a long period where i wanted to serve God, but not in something like that.  but anyways, he did realize a lot at the retreat, and now the 3 of us (which includes his gf), are gonna have these bible studies at our apt. next semester.  there's also a lot of other changes, but i'm not sure if i should spill it out...even to strangers.

again, i'm not sure if people read the journal entry or not.  but...his gf got saved.  so that was awesome.  i see a lot of joy in her now, and she's on fire for God.

It sounds like you had a great experience at this retreat blueiverson!  Of course, if you don't feel comfortable sharing everything with us, you shouldn't. :)

God uses all of us in a variety of ways, in different capacities.  We're able to be effective in all ways, if we listen to His voice and are obedient to it (easier said than done sometimes, huh?).  I hope that your brother's gf keeps her fire ignited, and we get to hear about some awesome things she's doing for the kingdom!

Keep us posted as to what's going on with you, your brother and his gf. :)

~Peace in Christ,

BF
