My Dad is recieving comfort care at this point. I talked with both him and the doctor on tuesday. Since my Dad would like to go home if possible the Doctor said that he would be having a conference with hospice to see how much they would be able to do for him, and it will depend mostly on that, and if the person who will be at home with him, will be able to do everything he needs to have done. They're going to change his feeding tube today, and put a permanent one in his stomache because the one he's using now is uncomfortable. And also a permanent IV for pain medication. they're doing the stomache tube right now, I should know by some time tonight how he's doing.
I would like to ask you to pray, that wherever my Dad ends up, at home, or having to stay in the hospital, that it will be wherever he will get the best comfort care. The reason for this request is because my brother has stated that he will go take my Dad out of the hospital and take him home even if the doctors think it's best for him to stay put. He claims the doctors only want to keep him there because they get paid for the bed he's in (This is paid for by the VA, no one else). I know what he says isn't true, His doctor is working on trying to get him home, he just wants to make sure he will be able to maintain a certain amount of comfort, and as little pain as possible once he gets there.
Also pray for my Mom, My brother wants his inheritence and he wants it now. He doesn't seem to care at what price it would come to my Mother. What he wants to do would only drive her into a depression that she's just now coming out of. Pray that the Lord will protect her from him.
