I type this thread in love, but I want to show my brothers and sisters in Christ the errors of Mormonism. I as a born again beliver in the Lord Jesus Christ have always had questions about Mormonism, and now i have them, and consider them a cult...and for good reason.


Mormonism

- God was once a man on another planet with a God over him. God is an exalted man!

- Celestial Exaltation- You will have the capability with you wife to become the god and godess of your own earth filled with your spiritual children, this is known as the Law of Eternal Progression. If you qualify and go through the temple ceremony, you can become a god yourself.

Salvation: Mormons say that what Christ did on the cross was necessary for salvation, but not sufficiant! You also need obedience to the Laws and ordinances of the LDS church. To gain access to the temple, drinking coffee and tea disqualifies you, you must be able to prove that you have paid 10% of you income to the LDS church, or access is not granted. This effect where you spend eternity. Not salvation by grace.

Baptism of the dead- A misinterpretation of 1 Cor 15. Mormons believe that true Christianity ceased to exist after the apostles died and was restored by Joeseph Smith. The people inbetween that period did not have a chance to be saved. They as a result go to a place called Spirit Prision. Mormon missionaries can come down from paridice and preach the gospel to them in spirit prision, if you accept the gospel and someone is baptised for the dead for you, you are on the steps to full salvation.

-One of billions of sons and daughters

-Spirit brother of Lucifer (Acts 17:29)

-According to some early mormon apostles Jesus had three wives, Mary her sister Martha and Mary Magdalen.

-After Christs resurrection he visited America to preach the Gospel to the Native Americans.

-Not the Only true God, made flesh dwelling among us, it is a totally different Jesus.

-Do not belive in the Trinity

-The Holy Spirit is an inanimate force or influence of the Father

Heavenly Father and Mother who have billion of sons and daughters.

Gods, angels and Humans are all the same species in various forms. Humans are gods in embryos. This destroys the divinity of Jesus, it makes Him our elder brother instead of the God of the universe. A latter day god one of billions of gods and goddesses.

Heaven

Mormons have three heavens:

Telestial Kingdom
For the wicked, people that do not believe in God, atheist and even murderers.

Terrestrial Kingdom
Reserved for religious people who were not mormons, Good Budists, Good Methodists ect.

Celestial Kingdom
The top heaven is reserved for the LDS only! The highest in that kingdom is on reserved for married mormons that both went through the temple rights.

This is a somewhat skewed version of LDS theology, by a non-LDS. I appreciate the attempt at accuracy, but the true version must come from one who has practiced, lived it and understands it.

Long threads are counterproductive, so I will only address one point here. Christ atoned (paid) for our sins, mostly in Gethsemane and finished it on the cross. He paid the price for our sins which was so horrendous that it caused him to bleed through the pores of his skin, a feat beyond what any human could survive. We cannot return to God unclean, therefore, without the atonement, we had no way of returning. We utilize the atonement in our lives through repentance. If we repent, our sins are paid through the atonement. So basically, we do all we can, which can never be enough, and Christ's atonement covers the difference. This is his grace, and our debt to him for what he did for us, is endless. Yes our works are important, as stated repeatedly in the book of James, but without Christ's grace, it is hopeless.

Airing your personal hang-ups about Jesus Christs Church and His Teachings because of your own weaknesses is a sad state of affairs.
You not only deceive yourself, you attempt to deceive others.
I know many people, because of their lack of faith and Testimony, who kick against the truth because they have not had a Witness by the Holy Ghost.

I can only tell you this :

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is Jesus Christs Church and Authority, Restored on this Earth through Joseph Smith, a 14 year old Prophet of the Lord.
The Restoration was told to Peter in Matthew 16: 15-19
It holds the Keys to the Kingdom of Heaven and shows and teaches us the Way back to our Heavenly Father and purpose of our existance.
It bears the Holy name of Jesus The Christ and is led by Him, at this time through His Holy Prophet and Apostles.
The gates of Hell, nor you or any other on this or any other Forum, "Will Not Prevail Against It".

I suggest you, or any other who has difficulty in accepting the truth, if it is your true Hearts desire, to Fast and Pray to Heavenly Father and ask Him for a witness if it is True. James 1: 3-5, Morini 10: 3-5 He Loves you and only wants the best for you.
He will reveal if it is true or not to you, through the Loving Power of the Holy Ghost.

You will only get your mind and spirit more distanced from the truth here, by people who have also received no witness !

I have fasted and prayed and asked God whether this is true and I have received a clear and steadfast revelation from God Himself that this is a complete lie straight from the pit of hell.

I pray that He would reveal the same testimony of His truth as it is found in His word to all who have been trapped in it.

You should be more sincere in your heart and spirit, lest you have been seriously misled by satan ?
I wish you to explain to us How God revealed to you that the Church of Jesus Christ of LDS is not from Him and How He told you it was a lie ???
I want to know your personal experience with God !

As a young man I most earnest sought to know the truth concerning Mormonism and I fasted and prayed, seeking God to reveal His truth to me. He directed me to Galatians 1 where in the eighth verse I read, "But even though we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to that which we have preached to you, let him be anathema." God showed me that the gospel contained in His word, the Bible, is not the same as that in Mormonism which, indeed, claims to have another gospel. There was no doubt in my mind whatsoever that God is true and His word is true and that this other gospel and those who preach it are anathema (accursed).

Which, may I add, was wrought about in the end by a sun worshipper called Constantine. He brought the arguing "priests" togethher at Nicea 365 years after the death of Christ I would call anyne who blindly accepts that the bible is complete and the final word of God pretty naive to say the least !
Although the bible is the manipulated word of God, it´s not his final words to His children.

Read it, Pray about it and God´s Blessings to your spirit.

In all sincerity and honesty I can testify that I have received a revelation of the Holy Ghost and none other. The fact that it entirely contradicts what you consider to be a revelation is of no real concern of mine, nor is it in me to state anything about it other than the fact that you do not believe the gospel of Jesus Christ as given in the Bible.

I urge you not only to pray about it, but to search the scriptures as the Bereans did and determine whether God, the Holy Ghost and Heavenly Father has given us His gospel in the Bible or if the Bible is, indeed, false and not to be believed.

I didn't think you were God and am pleased to know that you concur with me in that. My question then remains as to how you know what or how God revealed His truth to me. I do not claim to know anything about your experience of personal revelation and find it puzzling that you assume to know everything about mine.

I did, in fact, read, everything in your previous post and found that much of it wandered from the questions into various attacks against straw men that I did not create. However, I did appreciate your candor in revealing that you do not believe the Bible and consider it to be fraudulent.

The question still remains as to the basis by which you have determined my personal revelation from God Almighty to be false. As a point of fact, I do not claim to have received a revelation from an angel of light (Moroni?) as one account of the First Revelation to Joseph Smith states.

Sorry for my delay in answering your reply, I got banned for asking a simple question from the scriptures ? Matthew 16: 15-19.
I question the "Powers" that be who run CF. In my opinion, they are not Godly or "christian" natured towards hearing the truth ! I mean, the spirit that influences them is not from God. (Albion, Redheaded....etc.)

My question then remains as to how you know what or how God revealed His truth to me. I do not claim to know anything about your experience of personal revelation and find it puzzling that you assume to know everything about mine.

In this question you still haven´t answered my question in my last post, as to HOW you know and experienced the revelation from God about His Son´s Church ? To have a revelation is a huge spiritual experience.
